Crystal Palace and Wishes?

So my sister and I are trying to find a special place to take our mom for dinner on mother's day. We are hoping for dinner and a fireworks show. Our first choice was Crystal Palace because we love that place and we know our mom will love it too. Our reservation is for 8:45 pm.

Now I have seen many photos and videos of people watching wishes from the porch and it looks like a pretty view away from the massive crowds. I also read a review that the CMs told everyone when the fireworks were going to start so they could go out onto the porch.

So my question is this...can you really leave your table and go out to the porch to watch wishes and then go back inside to eat? Or do you have to be done eating and have paid for everything to go out?

Trying to decide if I should be watching for other places/times and change our plans a bit or not.

I'd try and get a reservation at California grill and a table along the glass. Awesome view they play the music and dim the lights and all.

Thought about it, but there isn't anything there we would eat so it would be pretty pointless. The dinner together is ultimately more important than the show. I have heard a lot of good about wishes at there though, if only we weren't picky. xD

No one knows the answer to this? :(
Since Wishes is at 10 p.m. on Mother's Day and your ADR is for 8:45 p.m., it is highly likely you will be finished with dinner before needing to secure a place on the porch. I suggest you tell your server at 9:30 to please bring your check, if you haven't already received it.

We have watched Wishes many times from the area in front of Crystal Palace (though not on the porch). The sight lines are great.

I would *think* they'd let you go outside ONLY if you prepaid for your meal. Otherwise, what's to stop you from eating, going outside to watch the fireworks and then just leaving???o_O

I was thinking that, but I also didn't want to feel really rushed if we ended up getting seated late. Last year when we ate at crystal palace we were seated 40 minutes after our reservation, but that was in the middle of the day and a slightly busier time of year. And yes, I was planning to ask if we could pay earlier on in our meal so that would be all settled. :)

This crossed my mind, but you also have to have a credit card on file for the reservation to begin with. So technically if someone just walked off all they would have to do is charge the card. I have actually found more reviews of people saying their waitress allowed them to go out for wishes and come back in to finish eating as well.

I am thinking we will be fine. Even if we don't get to see the fireworks the dinner will still be nice. Thank you guys!

I found this video on YouTube...

I'm not sure if they went out after or mid-meal. Since they were obviously on the porch and ate dinner at CP (based on their write up)...you may want to send a msg to the person to see how it all worked for them.

Thank you! This also makes me super excited for the trip. Just three more weeks until Disney!
