Cruise Line?

Has anyone here ever worked on Disney Cruise Lines before? I'd be really interested in doing that after I finish my College Program, I'm about to start my second College Program and I realize I can't be a CP for life, but I'm not ready to fully relocate to Orlando and be responsible for my own transportation and housing. The cruise line looks like so much fun, I just returned from a cruise, not a Disney one, just a regular Carnival cruise but I loved the atmosphere and I think it would be a lot of fun. I visited the special site about the cruise line and it said you'd be working seven day, seventy hour weeks. Wow! Of course after being a CP I think I could handle it! I'd like to do entertainment on the ship, I've already had an audition and that's what I'll be doing on this CP so I'm not worried about that, but what is the demand for character performers on the ships? Would I have a harder time getting to be a character on the cruise line? I wouldn't think so since I'm sure it's hard to find people willing to live on a boat for six months. Anyone have more info? On the website I couldn't find anything about rate of pay, but I'm assumming for a seventy hour week they'd have to pay you overtime right? I think that would be an amazing way to save a lot of money, it's not like I could spend much living on a boat! And then with the money I saved I'd love to go ahead and get an apartment in Orlando.
Thanks guys!

ya that is definitely true! I did some research when I was thinking about dancing for a cruise line, and it is an amazing way to go!! Your food and housing is paid for, your income doesn't get taxed because you're on international waters, and a lot of the time employees are allowed to take off and go visit the places where the boat docks!! If you're willing to leave everything thing for six months I think it would be amazing! if i'm not married by the time I graduate college I think i'm gonna go for it!

I just found out last week that one of my friends is going to work on the DCL. Right now she is finishing up her CP in entertainment, coming home, then heading right back out a few weeks later for training. She is going to be doing entertainment on the DCL. I believe her contract is going to be from something like Sept-April. Aside from that I don't know much since I was talking to her sister and she didn't have many of the details of it all.
