Disney Cruise Line guests can enjoy a festive holiday celebration sprinkled with pixie dust on sailings between November 24 and January 1, 2003.

It all starts at Disney’s private cruise terminal at Port Canaveral, Florida, where festive holiday décor and Disney characters dressed in their season’s best await all who board a Magical Holidays sailing. On board the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder, guests find the ships decked with boughs of holly and filled with holiday-themed entertainment and activities for the entire family.

Magical holidays highlights include:
  • A lighting ceremony of a nearly three-deck-tall tree in the atrium lobby, where snow magically falls.
  • A Christmas Eve visit from Santa Goofy, with surprises for kids enrolled in children’s programming.
  • International holiday caroling by crew members from around the globe.
  • Special family time, when families join together to design and decorate their own gingerbread houses.
  • Classic holiday story time in the atrium hosted by favorite Disney characters.
  • Traditional holiday feasts in Disney’s three themed dining rooms.
  • Presentations of Santa Claus 2: The Mrs. Claus and Treasure Planet, sure to be two of this holiday season’s most popular films.
  • Multiple faith and non-denominational holiday services.
  • A ship-wide party to ring in 2003 and a New Year’s Day tailgate party at ESPN Skybox and Promenade Lounge.
Rates for Magical Holiday sailings start a $439 (three-night), $539 (four-night) and $829 (seven-night).

Lilo & Stitch Cruise Line Fun: Already the most comprehensive children’s programming at sea, Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab have been given an intergalactic boost thanks to new programs and activities inspired by the family themes of Disney’s Lilo & Stitch.

The imaginative themes of this summer’s hit family film have been woven through new elements of Disney’s extensive lineup of children’s programming. Enhancements include:
  • Lilo costumes that allow youngsters to play the film’s cheerful little star.
  • Interactive computer games that combine the unforgettable characters and imaginative story.
  • A Hawaiian-themed welcome night for children entering programming at the start of the cruise.
  • The energetic soundtrack, setting the mood for these all new themed programs and activities.
With almost an entire deck devoted to children’s programming, Disney Cruise Line has interactive, hands-on activities that were specifically designed with 5 different age groups in mind. Disney’s Oceaneer Club accommodates the 3-4 and 5-7 age groups, while Disney’s Oceaneer Lab accommodates the 8-9 and 10-12 age groups. For the teens, there is Common Grounds (ages 13-17). Flounder’s Reef Nursery provides a full-service nursery for ages 12 weeks to 3 years.

Pagers are available to parents with children in the programming areas so they’re never out of reach while enjoying the ship’s adults-only areas. In addition, children are provided with wristbands identifying the child’s name, parent’s pager number and any allergies they may have.
