Cruise in January?

Sort of @21stamps . We took what is called the "New Year's Eve Cruise". One year with Royal Caribbean and another year with Carnival. The Caribbean weather was hot for both late Dec. & early Jan. cruises and the "at sea" weather was warm....so shorts and a t shirt weather. At midnight on the ship's outer decks the ladies needed a sweater.
I think we were back Jan. 2nd one year and Jan. 3rd another year.
Is any of this helpful? What feedback are you seeking regarding a January Caribbean Cruise?

Thanks for the response!

Did you guys still do water excursions that time of year? Was it warm enough to do the pool and slides on deck?
I wore long sleeves and a sweater at night over Thanksgiving.

January is a slower time with sports for my son, and a slower time for me at work..from mid month on, I wouldn’t be able to do a NYE cruise. I bet that would be a lot of fun!

I’ve just never considered cruising that time of year, mainly because of the weather.

Did snorkling in the waters off the Bahamas. It was a hot day. Swimming on the ship was popular. Many people did that. Much of the ports of call we were at were near or somewhat near the equator so to me it just felt like summer.

We did a 4 night Bahamian cruise in late January 2017, and are doing a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise in late January 2019. Our weather in 2017 was fine, mid-to-upper 70's and little rain. Hoping for the same for our next one!
