we have a reservation for 4 on the 27th of september for CRT, now my parents want to join us and that would make 6 (really 5 adults and a toddler). Can i just have them showup with us ? what are my chances crt will accomodate? honestly the hostess has never been particularly nice there

I see nothing for a table of six for that day online for any meal, which probably means that they don't have any room for party of six in the restaurant. You could try to show up with an extra two, but I wouldn't get my hopes up on being seated promptly, if at all, at least together with the entire group.

I suggest that you tell your parents to make precautionary reservations somewhere nearby, like the Kona or Grand Floridian Cafe for a half hour later than your current reservation, so they have somewhere to go if they get turned away at the door, which I'm sorry to say is pretty likely.

i haven't checked to see what's available, but it's rare to get a table this close. however, you never know about cancellations. so check frequently
also- you may be able to get a table for 2 for them. then when you arrive, sometimes they can try to arrange tables near each other, or even all at the same table. worst case scenario, they are on other side of restaurant; i know that i would forgo a peaceful sit down meal to be hovering over near my grandkids to see them greet the princesses, and sort of eat on the fly. bet your parents would do this too. keep checking for cancellations, odd of them just adding the parents that morning are small (although not nonexistent). agree with alternate plans as backup, even if just main st bakery- they're pretty good.

I would call in and talk to a CM. Sometimes they are able to work some magic or move things around easier than just checking repeatedly online. I think it going to be tough to go from a party of 4 to a party of 6 though. I'll send some pixie dust your way!

Typically 1 or 2 more isn't a end all to the situation however it depends on how close to fire code they are at the moment. Sometimes they can squeeze you in and maybe add 15 minutes to your wait time and sometimes they will say unfortunately they can not accommodate extra guests that day. It really is up to how many extra people have already come in. It might be worth it in the morning to go and ask the CM at the hostess booth if it is possible to add two more to your dinning reservation that night. Giving them such an extra heads up will allow them to move things around just a bit.

We had a late addition to our party (changed from 8 to 9) two weeks before our trip two years ago. We were able to change all necessary reservations online except for one....at the Brown Derby for dinner.
We showed up 15 minutes prior to the reservation and explained the situation and they were able to comply with our request no problem.

CRT is a little different. Books up a lot quicker. Higher demand. And I'm sure the actual seating of a table of 4 is different from a table of 6. I've never dined at CRT. Not sure what the table setups are. But at the Brown Derby, a table for 8 was already two table put together. And since we had 3 children in our party, we had no problem squeezing heinies.

Do you all think I will have as much trouble at crystal palace? I have an 8:05am for 8ppl, incl 2 one year olds. Then my sister decided she would like to come at last minute, nevermind that I asked everyone 180 days in advance who would be coming... They just don't understand the Disney obsessiveness. ;)

Do I have a chance of getting all 9 of us in at 8:05?

I'm having the same situation at 'Ohana on 11/2. Booked for 3 but now my parents have decided to surprise my boys and join us for a day - great idea but I'm having trouble changing my reservation to 5 (There are no tables for 2 either!). I decided to get them in at Kona around the same time, so at least I know they are booked someplace. And I just keep trying every day to see if anything frees up.

Rather than try and rebook as a party of 6, I'd probably stalk the website like crazy for a party of 2 around your current ADR time. At least then you would all be in there around the same time if you land a 2-top. CRT does come up though b/c nobody wants to be out the $ if they don't plan to go. I stalked for several weeks and landed a 4-top for my ideal time. If not- I think sending them to the bakery is your best bet. While I know walk ups and add ons are always possible, CRT is small and even Allears is now listing that advanced ressies are required- probably b/c of the prepayment issue coupled with demand.

Still, if you are able to check a ton of times each day until your trip date, the odds are good that you'll eventually come up with something. You can even keep checking after you're there.
