Crowds this past March

Hey guys! I'm just curious about the crowds this past March because we are planning a trip for next spring and want to avoid peak crowds if possible (all though I know there's no longer a slow season and crowd calendars are no longer accurate). Do you think the high crowd volume was due to Easter being in March this year? April crowds were definitely lighter and more tolerable. Basically trying to decide btwn a March 2019 or April 2019 trip and wanted some expert input!!

my husband and I were at WDW the first week of March this year. I had never been that time of year, and like everyone else, tried to hit the lower crowd week. Well, all my planning did not work out! I booked the week after the Princess half marathon thinking that the racers would come to Disney the week before as it started on Wednesday. Well, that was wrong. It seems that a lot of racers stayed over for the following week after the race. It was crowded, at least more crowded than expected. Was it unbearable? No, we did fine with fp's and reservations.
However, the next time I will avoid the week after the marathon like the plague!

We have found Mid-March you will get the colleges and private school spring breaks. The public schools seem to go closer to Easter.

In 2019, Mardi Gras falls on March 5, so you will have many people from Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region travelling to Disney World that week as schools in the areas that celebrate Mardi Gras typically have the week off, so March 1 - 10 will be heavily populated by Mardi Gras travellers and there will be many of us.

was there for my birthday the first week of march. It was alot busier than i thought it would be, but not unmanageable. We were able to hit all wanted attractions on the fly with FP+ short of FOP and SDMT. The weather was absolutely perfect for us.
