Crowds these days.

So I've read a few articles on how overall attendance has dipped recently but booking our trip in a few months you couldn't tell with a lot of "sold outs". Are the crowds in fact a little easier lately or is that just web nonsense? I tend to think Disney crowds are just always at a high level. We are going end of Oct. but leaving before Halloween which I'm assuming is somewhat a peak time.

When you say "sold outs," do you mean at the resorts? I've heard the anecdotes about declining park crowds but my understanding is that the resorts are still booking very strong.

Yes! Sorry. Looked at Moderates and it seems they are at a high capacity. Booked Coronado. We've typically gone in Jan, post holidays and always had low crowds.

What are your dates?

EDIT: Nevermind, I was thinking January instead of October. January you run into marathon and MLK.

They may be reporting overall drop in numbers but whenever we've gone it doesnt look or feel like there are lower crowds. And friends who have gone also have reported back that their trips were much busier than they experienced in the past. Octobers F&W festival and MNSSHP have driven up the numbers of WDW guests. I'd count on having some lines and fairly heavy crowds.

You're most likely seeing the F&W and MNSSHP crowds at that time of year. I feel that the parks have been less crowded this summer as compared to past summers; that's not to say they're empty by any means...just less crowded than what I've seen before.

Yea, I feel the same. Crowds seem normal (high). Hitting the last few days in Oct. 25, 26, 27, 28. I'll for sure expect crowds. Just heard about attendance being down.
