Crowds in February

Me and my wife are going to the Daytona 500 in February. We plan on going to Universal on the day we arrive, and the day we leave. I have looked at a few different crowd calendars and they show the days we will be there to be busy? Any idea why the middle of the week in the middle of February would be busy?
The days we are planning on going are Wednesday February 17, and Saturday the 22nd.
Thanks for any info.

Looks like Presidents day and spring break. The parks are showing more crowds/attendance, I was there today with slow crowds listed and it was moderate to busy IMHO

Probably Brazilian tour groups and Argentinian Turisimos. It's their summer vacation albeit the tail end. Mid dec to march is not a good time to go.

Sometimes they will all go to one of the parks and if you have park hopper you can escape to the other park because the Brazilian tour groups usually don't get park hoppers.

Thanks for the advice, do you think our money would be better used getting park hoppers, or unlimited express pass?

It depends on what you want to spend. Obviously you could get unlimited express park hooper.

I guess I would go express pass unless you really wanted to ride the Harry Potter train which requires park Hopper.

Another trick you can use is go on the single rider line and usually there's little wait. But you may be separated from your party in single rider. In my experience though it seems like most of the time I end up sitting with someone in my party even in the single rider line.
But if you see Brazilian in the single rider line don't go into that line because there will be 100 Brazilians in that line thus defeating the purpose of the single rider line.

Don't think you will need to be concerned with South American tour groups during your stay. The exchange rate is falling so fast their tours are going to be poorly attended for the next few years.
