Crowds for Tom Joyner and Night of Joy?? Wait a week?

Need some input.

We are planning a trip in Sept. from the 3rd to 9th, which is the week of Tom Joyner on the 3rd and 4th and Night of Joy 8th and 9th.

Should be wait a week or are crowd levels really not that bad. I have two young kids both under 3, so a stroller is a must, and I don't care to be fighting any major crowds.

Thanks for you input.

The week after Labor Day is one of the slowest weeks on property, even with the NOJ. I've gone the last couple of years and I haven't seen an increase of crowds during that weekend.

Dude... do NOT go the same week as Tom Joyner.. theres your input. Don't even risk it. Listen to his show a few times and decide for yourself if you have to.. but your asking for advice and im giving it. I would not go during the tom joyner familily reunion even if everything was 50 percent off.. including air.

Night of Joy is only going to affect the night hours at the park, not during the day. Although having gone several times over the years, that time of year is really, really hot and humid. My t-shirt was down to my knees at the end of the night.

Have fun whatever you decide.

I couldn't disagree more (not about the show - never heard it).

I went last year during the last week of August and Labour Day weekend (i.e. during the Tom Joyner Family Reunion). I had heard all kinds of doom and gloom, but I went anyway because it was really the only time I had available.

Didn't notice a thing. The only "problem" was that MGM was closed on Saturday night for the concert. Fine by me - we had a blast at the Magic Kingdom that night!!

Bottom line is that it's a long weekend. Yes, it's going to be busy, but it's not bad at all. It felt like an average early August day: busy, but not unbearably so. I would go back at that time of year. If you can't push back your trip - don't worry about it!!

Thanks for all the input. Just looking to not be battling crowds. I normally do Jan 1 to Jan 6 which is just about enough crowds for me to really enjoy it. And with the Temps in Sept, don't want to have to deal with crowds and hot and cranky kids...
