Hi-

I'm thinking of surprising my husband with a weekend at Disney. Just wondering how the crowd levels are the first couple weeks in December. I'm looking at going December 5-9.

Thanks!!:)

I'm (hopefully) going to be at WDW in early December. I have never been that time of the year, but I hear it is one of the least busiest times. It is a really good time to go because you have all the nice holiday activities and light crowds. The parks close early though, around 6pm.

First week of December

We leave every year the day after Thanksgiving. We go the first couple of days and relax. We go to Downtown Disney, and just enjoy being there. Then on the Sunday of the first weekend -we're off. It's the absolute best time to be there!! The crowds are thin and the Christmas spirit is in full gear. We wouldn't go any other time. But if you happen to leave the day after Thanksgiving to give you some extra time, just don't go to the parks Friday when you get there or Saturday. Just do some leisurely things!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Thanks for the input. I thought it would really put us in the Christmas spirit to be down at Disney before Christmas.

kennyj29, it sounds like going down Thanksgiving weekend may be a bit too crowded. I was also looking at going down that weekend. Thanks for the suggestions!

We've been there twice during that time, and it's our absolute favorite time of year. The Christmas decorations are up, the Thanksgiving crowds are gone, you'll be out of there before MVMCP crowds start, the weather is fantastic, and you will walk straight through the queue lines directly onto the ride. It never rained once, and everyday the high was mid to upper 70's. We left around the 11th or 12th once, and the crowds were really starting to pick up then. There's nothing like walking up a nearly deserted Main Street with Christmas carols playing. Don't forget to see the Osborne lights at MGM - it's amazing. Have fun!!!
