Crowds After New Year's?

hello all! I'm thinking about taking a trip to the parks from Jan. 3-9....how are crowds there this time of year? I went once a few days after Christmas and it was madness. I'm a preferred APH, & usually stay at a timeshare near SeaWorld, but am wondering if the express pass is necessary.

Thanks!

I answered you over on the OI board. Low crowds, good weather no express needed. Have fun

Not to be a downer but we went the week after New Years in either 2009 or 2010 and it was cold!!!! The entire week the temperature hovered in the 40s and 50s and never exceeded 60. It actually snowed one day. And also the crowds were not low (we were at wdw). In retrospect they were similar to mid august crowds...lower than spring break but not walk-on-ride crowds.

We had a blast as it was the first time taking the kids. Really wdw and universal are fun whenever. But now we go in august just to be sure it will be warm. Check the weather and pack accordingly.

It's the weekend before locals go back to school. So the weekend part might be busy. I LOVE going in January EXCEPT for the fact that it is cold- so no water rides and no HRH pool time. Makes Hogsmead feel that much more real :)

we're from Ohio (although I'm originally from FL) so hopefully the cold doesn't bother us too much....I'm excited since I've never been in January! thanks for all the info!
