Crowded parks?

Hey All,

Have the parks been crowded lately? I'll be arriving on Tuesday and was wondering, because a friend of mine was looking to stay on property for a few days, and it seems that all of the resorts are booked up. Thanks!

It was crowded in mid September. We picked that date because we were told it was one of the best times to visit for crowds. But it was shoulder-to-shoulder in Magic Kingdom most of the time. The resort we stayed at seemed to be at max capacity.

Very crowded compared to other years at this time. Pop is packed!

I stayed at the Pop Century. It was filled. Probably because it is one of the least expensive places to lodge. The good thing about the lodge is that it has three pools. I don't think they could fit everyone into just one. It was very hot so a lot of people were swimming.

I was at magic kingdom yesterday and it was packed. Let me put it to you this way caseys at midnight closing had a line out the door. Even during the busy times casey is relatively empty after park closing. I went to animal kingdom today for lunch and safari had 100 minute wait. Crowded is an understatement. With that said, plan right especially since you are on property utilize extra magic hours. The crowded point of the day remains mid afternoon to mid evening.

September was wicked packed. It was crazy. Even back when I went on early months it was less crowded than September.

Thanks for the heads up; that's where we're staying. This should be interesting... One more question, did you have any trouble having your resort requests met?

Like July/August packed?
Definitely. There were long lines to enter the parks themselves. It was crazy, some guests behind us said "I think everyone had the same idea to come on September". And I think it's quite true, to be honest. Now, it doesn't really has any difference from the summer crowds. I went last year on January/February and found it more pleasing because there were fewer crowds.

It seems to be a little busier than normal especially during the weekends. Epcot is busy with the Food and Wine festival, just make sure you plan accordingly.

Thank you! I've done exhaustive planning and thankfully, most of my Disney days for this trip will be during the week and I've made FP+ reservations for the big ticket items, like the Safari and all of my favorite rides.

Thankfully, our Epcot day is in the middle of the week and we'll be spending most of the day "drinking around the world." We've got FP+ reservations for the rides we want to do that day.

Yes, the crowd levels lately (And All year if you've been reading any of the quarterly threads I've been posting) have shown moderate to peak waits.

The one thing that I have noticed for Food and Wine is the outside of Canada and into part of UK is wall to wall people, once you get past that you are ok until you hit outside of Mexico outside of where Donald photo pass area. Not sure if it will be like that for your trip but I wanted to share my observation with you.

And I greatly appreciate it. All tips are welcome. Thanks!

For anyone that's either currently at Pop Century or has been there recently, were the noise levels unbearable? That's the one thing I'm concerned about with this resort. Obviously, there will be noisy kids there; that's to be expected, but was it crazy loud around the resort/in the rooms? Thank you.

When were you there?

Third week of september. Magic Kingdom was crowded for all five days. Other parks were busy but the magic kingdom was insanity level. It was more crowded than any other theme park i have ever visited. Long lines for everything-rides, food, even restrooms at times. After about 11 am you could barely move at some spots and the main street area was shoulder to shoulder every day. We even tried blogger advice and got there before opening but everyone else must have had the same idea. Couldn't shake the crowds. Animal Kingdom was least crowded and not that bad. Hollywood park was congested, Epcot fairly busy. Magic Kingdom was out of control zoo.
