Pre-Trip Cronuts and Cupcakes and other Cool Stuff

Hi all!!
So excited - 60 days out and I've selected all our FP+ then spent the ENTIRE rest of the day fine tuning our plans, conducting further research and questioning all you good people about "random stuff." We're staying at the Contemporary from Oct 9th-16th. First time in a deluxe thanks to a great deal through our travel agent. The "we" is me, Tinkerkelle, my DH and 2 DSs aged 11 and 8. This is we:

I made our ADRs what seems like ages ago - bang on 6am (or a more humane 11am UK time) at the 180 days mark. I went online and had such problems :banghead: that I called an hour later having achieved nothing :arghh:. The very lovely lady at reservations pointed out I had slightly jumped the gun and it was 181 days for me!!! Curses inaccurate ADR calculator . Got it done the next day and was so glad to find it a very simple and problem-free process!

Have 8am reservations for Crystal Palace and Tusker House and soooo looking forward to entering these (near) empty parks. We've never had reservations before park opening and this is seriously "beast" according to the 11 year old - his tone suggested that was good?! Also have a breakfast reservation for Chef Mickey which we haven't done before. Dinner reservations are at BoG (yay!!) and 2 newbies - Hollywood & Vine and Boma (drooled over the Boma food pictures) Paying oop for Beaches & Cream - just discovered the chocolate lover's kitchen sink on this very forum and am so hoping they still do this in October as it doesn't seem to be on the menu. Our final dinner is at Ohana - a carnivorous, coconut-racer's dream. Thankfully Flame Tree BBQ is back open but I feel it doesn't make up for the tragedy that is Liberty Tree being closed . My incredibly patient and indulgent DH lets me plan away and organise everything and he loves Liberty Tree, as we all do, but he likes the sound of Contempo Cafe (peanut butter pie people - genius! Actually, he doesn't like nuts but it's still genius) And we plan to eat at Sunshine Seasons, Columbia Harbour House and Cosmic Ray's too. I love food, just incase you didn't pick up on that!!

I've been putting together a snack list as we let our credits build last time and "wasted" them on bagged sweets in a moment of panic on our last day. Not this time, my friends!! Cronuts, cupcakes, cake cups, cinnamon rolls, sundaes, dole whips/citrus swirl (which team are you?) pastries from Les Halles, caramel goodness from Karamel Kuche, baked goodies from Kringla Bakeri... Heeeeaaven :angelic:

I'm really looking forward to spending more time in Epcot this trip. Neglected it last time and hardly saw anything of World Showcase which I loved pre-children. Also 7DMT - have 2 FP+ What's another word for excited? Super excited!!! Going to spend a little time resort hopping hence the Boma ADR (really want to have a look around this gorgeous hotel and grounds) and the Beaches & Cream ADR, after which we're going to tour the Boardwalk. Also checking out POFQ (and the beignets - had to be food!) before taking the boat to DTD one afternoon.

Hakuna Matata everyone and good night!

You had me at cronuts! Hahaha :hilarious:

At least you were a day early trying to make ADRs instead of a day late, right? :) Sounds like you have some great reservations! Chef Mickey's is one of my favorites. We used to go there as a kid so it has a special place in my heart. Beaches and Cream is another one of my favorites!

It's amazing how much I love Epcot now compared to when I was a kid. I used to think it was so boring and educational and now it's one of my favorites!

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!

I know - Epcot WS has no thrill rides or fancy ride systems but it's just so much fun. Last trip we went to Epcot one evening and ate at the Electric Umbrella (I know ) then watched Illuminations and returned the next morning and just did Future World riding Test Track multiple times then Soarin, Mission Space and SSE. A few days later we raced around WS before dinner reservations at Garden Grill (brilliant meal and cool restaurant) because we thought the boys (6 and 9 at the time) would prefer other things but WS is amazing and didn't deserve such casual neglect!! Have a whole day and a bit in Epcot this trip.

School Bread...

I also drooled over the pics of the cake cabinet in the Kringla Bakeri!
