Critique my trip dates and park reservations.

Below is my family’s trip plans in December. Myself, wife, and adult daughter. We have park hopper for all days. Any suggestions on pros and cons of when I’m going, park resrvation dates, hopeful dinner plans would be much appreciated!

Dinner Hopes: Yachtsman Steakhouse at Yacht Club

Dinner Hopes: Flying Fish at Boardwalk

Thursday, December 8th
Epcot Park Reservation
Dinner Hopes: Space 220 at Epcot

Friday, December 9th
AK Park Reservation (Just to ride Avatar)
Disney Springs

Dinner Hopes: Chef Art’s Homecoming at Disney Springs

I'd consider Via Napoli over Space 220 any day of the week.

I have never eaten at Space 200 or Chef Art Smiths but know reservations are hard to get for both of those. We were able to get Art Smiths for our upcoming September trip. I would suggest being flexible and move to different days if you need to to get the ones you really want.

When going to MVMCP, try to get dinner reservations before the party, maybe at an MK resort or sometime between 4-6 when you can enter and before the park closes to day guests. They do have party dinner packages but I wouldn't advise getting one during the party. That takes up valuable time. Full disclosure: I did opt for the Plaza Garden viewing dessert party at MNSSHP. I wanted to guarantee myself a good view and consider that time well spent.

Second, are you flying or driving in? If driving, maybe get a breakfast ADR at Boma on Saturday? That's what I'm doing in a few weeks.

Consider looking for places at the resort you are going to be in rather than getting reservations that will require you to leave a park to eat. That is fine if you don't plan on returning to the park and the dinner is at the end of the day before going back to your room but otherwise leaving the park to eat and then going back is a huge waste of time. This can also be even more of a problem when the park hours are more limited at the time of year you are going to be there. As I recall out trip in early December the hours at some of the parks had what I considered early closing times.

Also if you give information on the types of food you want people will better be able to give suggestions... such as your family like fancy dinner, spicy things or whatever... otherwise you risk getting suggestion for places that are great for some but would leave others wanting.
