Hi I'm so confused with this whole thing. I booked the pop century for the end of the month (5 nights). After I booked it on ebookers I seen that the hotel needed a holding deposit even though the hotel is paid in full. When I asked ebookers what it was and how much they told me this "Disney advised then the minimum deposit required per day will be 500.00 USD. Which means a total of 2,500USD will be held by card or cash. This seems extreme as we dont want to charge to our room. Please help!

Disney doesn't take any "hold" beyond one night's deposit. You're required to pay in full at the time of check in. They'll ask you at check in if you'd like to leave a card on file for incidentals. At Pop Century you can room charge up to $500 before they'll put the charge through. They never, ever, ever, place any kind of hold for that amount, however. If you don't want to leave a card on file, you don't have to, either.

What this ebookers site told you sounds incredibly suspicious. Whatever the charge is, it's definitely not from Disney. I would proceed with extreme caution and consider rebooking directly through Disney.

Yeah, booking on third-party sites isn't necessarily a bad thing, but that is super fishy. Will they let you cancel, or are you too close to the date?

Thanks for the replies so helpful. From what you all say I think the girl I was speaking to in ebookers gave me complete wrong information. I don't think it's anything to bad because it was to be paid to Disney on arrival at the hotel so nothing to do with ebookers really. I just can't believe she got it so wrong. Nearly cancelled my booking through panic.

Oh, she may have just not explained something correctly. I believe the maximum you can spend on a room charge is $500 in the values resorts. Once you hit that limit, you have to go to the front desk and confirm everything is okay, and then they'll charge your card. When you check in, they do run your card number to make sure it's good, but they don't hold any money on it.

Now, I'm not sure if that's still accurate now that MyMagic+ is still in place, but maybe that's what she was getting at.

Yea I agree, Disney doesn't hold funds like that. They just take a look at your card and can see your limit and so forth, and if you reach the charging limit they charge your card and then it starts over with a new limit.

Nope, that is absolutely incorrect. At all the deluxes we've stayed at I've never had more than a $250 hold regardless if we were staying 1 or 10 nights.
