That always frustraits me when I see a topic come up from the bots that I would love to talk about but the threads are automatically closed.
If a mod/admin is needed for such a task, I am more than happy to help out. I have plenty of experience helming a forum.
But seriously, this is an idea that should be considered, since it seems to me, those forums don't get much traffic because a) they do get closed as soon as they are made, and b) would be nice to see non-Disney discussions. I know there is already a 'chit-chat' misc forum, but it seems a little cluttered.

This is a Disney related forum for discussions about all things Disney. Steve has included the Chit Chat section for none related Disney items. If things were expanded it just wouldn't be WDWMagic

I understand that it wouldn't be part of wdwmagic, but then what is the purpose of having the news bots if we can't talk about them where they are posted, surelys creating new threads in Chit Chat for each news post would take up more space in the database opposed to using just the one already created by the bot.
The purpose of the current non-Disney news posts is just for informational purposes. People tend to spend long periods of time on the forums, and its handy to keep abreast of news events as they happen whilst on the forum. (At least I find it handy LOL). Opening up those to discussion brings in a very non-Disney focus, which is something I am not keen on. We have a hard enough time keeping people friendly discussing Disney - as soon as religon, politics, wars comes into play - people get crazy.
I am not talking about religion, politics, ect-ect. I am talking about music/movies. If you need a mod to control the flow, I am more than happy. And since you have a good number of posters here that also wants to see this change, you should consider your audience. Perhaps a poll would be nice, to see what others' think.
I releaize this is a Disney-theme website - but it seems odd you have EVERYTHING organzed on the Disney side - and the most cluttered parent forum here (i.e. Chit Chat), which kind of makes things not so balanced.
