Crappy 60th Birthday

When I turned 60 I planned a full weekend with my family at WDW. I got a 3 bedroom at the BT Cont. A two story view to the MK and fireworks. Set up a party at the Contemp with cake and all the stuff to go along.

Well the wife and I went early with two grandkids. Took them swimming Fri afternoon and I started feeling ill. By 8 I was full on Monday and was full blown making love to the throne. I was this way Fri thru Sun. Went home to the DR put in hospital for severe dehydration. two days later home and well.

I failed to mention as I was in bed or the bathroom my wife, son and daughters families had a great time and we all have good laugh over it.

I feel your pain. We spent a week in WDW (April 20-27) and my little 7 year old son spent 4 days in bed with a stomach virus. It was a horrible feeling knowing that my boy was spending his magical vacation in bed sick.

Oh No!!!! I am sooooo sorry!! But .... Happy Birthday!! Maybe you can schedule another trip or maybe a three day cruise???

I came down with a stomach bug on the 2nd day of our trip in Jan 13 so I know being sick in WDW is NO fun. I don't know how being sick the whole trip is so i'm so sorry to hear your story!

happy belated birthday though - maybe try again for 61?

Sorry about your trip! Apparently there is a nice strain of Norovirus going through WDW. There are a few other threads about this lately.

This is why I pack a mini-pharmacy when we go to the World. I bring anti everything meds. When you bring kids together from all corners of the US and many different nations, germs are going to plentiful. Every single trip one of our kids vomit because of a virus, too much junk food, or overly tired.

Oh, how awful for you! Sorry about your trip and your illness. It's impressive that you can now laugh about it - that would take some doing for me! Hopefully your next trip will be more enjoyable.

I am the same way.

So sorry this happened to you! As others have said, it seems that you need to plan another trip for your 61st.
Happy Birthday!

I'm so sorry your birthday wasn't all you had planned!! :( That is the worst, when things happen that we can't control and ruin our vacations :( I hope you are able to take another, illness free trip again soon!
