Hi everyone, got back on Sunday from our trip, and I had noticed a crane next to the castle (Kind of hard not to notice) Just like when they took down the mirror, Sir Mickey's entrace by the castle was closed (still could enter from other shop).

Anybody have a clue as to why they have another crane there? Haven't seen any talk of it..

Thanks

I just wish the crane would be gone by the time we get there but I don't think that'll happen..:(..I'd rather see the crane than the castle look like a huge cake..:ROFLOL:

I am just glad while i was there the crane was not extended over the top. This year i lucked out and got some pics of the castle alone.

Back to the topic...they will likely begin the nightly lighting of the castle after Thanksgiving when the official Holiday Season begins. :)

Don't they take down the crane in the afternoons? I know they did last year. It's my understanding that it can't be there when they start Wishes.

From what I understand yes, they take the crane down during the mid afternoon, and yes the crane needs to be well out of the way for wishes to take place.

ACTUALLY...

This crane is dual-purpose. Right now it is actually painting more accents on the Castle...if you notice...you can see new "Charlie Brown" stripes on some of the blue rooftops (well at least that's what we have dubbed them for now).

Later, this will be used for hoisting the lighting up into place.

We were there on the 22nd and 28th, the crane was down both days. You really have to look hard to see it. It's easy to see the construction walls from Fantasyland, but from Main Street the crane is a non-issue.

The crane is lowered every morning prior to 6:30 am and raised as soon as Fantasyland is cleared every night.

Look close at the blue caps on the spires, you will see they are already drapped with the new lighting system.

Question: Is there still people staying overnight in the castle while the crane is working on the castle installing lights and painting? I persumed the noise and lights is kept to mininal while guest is sleeping. How sound proof is the suite?
