CP Alumni staying seasonal...

I did the college program Jan-Aug 2007 and stayed seasonal and am planning on being there next week. I'm from the west coast so it's huge deal for me to fly down, find a place to stay, etc. I was accidentally termed instead of made seasonal so my managers opened up a Seasonal position at my location with my name on it but I still have to go to casting and do the background check which could take up to 3 days! Luckily I will be there for 2 weeks so I'll still be able to get my hours in.

While that is frustrating enough because no one gets back to me about when/how to get my ID or if I am for SURE on the schedule, I also have no idea if I get a maingate! Does anyone know how this works? I want a guest to come for 2 days and I assumed I'd be getting one and then I heard it could take 6 weeks to process it for "newly hired" cast members which, in my case, would be totally pointless. I also don't see why it would take that long.

Also.....I was wondering if you have to give up your ID when you're done working or if you get to keep it...which would make sense because if they give you a maingate 6 weeks later they are assuming you are going to use it but you need to get yourself in as well.

Any help would be greeeaaatly appreciated! :)

I work as a Seasonal CM every summer, and here's how the Main Entrance Pass has worked in the past. It's issued two weeks AFTER the date of your first full 8-hour shift, and is automatically mailed to the address on your paycheck. For me, that is my home address up here in New York. It took several days to process and then be mailed, so I didn't actually receive it until about three or four weeks after that first 8-hour day. I don't know if you can make special arrangements to go pick it up so that you receive it sooner - there's a link on the Hub for questions.

I keep my ID every year, and turn it in when my new one is issued.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! So my shifts are always 7.5 hours at most, would I just get it after working 8hours total?

No, that's the issue - it's got to be an 8-hour shift. I suspect that's to weed out the folks who don't make it too far past initial training (my training shifts were 6-hour shifts). You could always speak with a manager about extending your hours one day to 8, in order to qualify for the pass sooner.

Oh Nadya...I'm sorry things aren't working out :-( If worst comes to worst, I can see if my uncle can get Farrah in a couple of days. Can't wait for you to be here!!
