Yes according to the Magic Guide for Universal Studios they don' take reservations. Download their app.

I know I am going for the first time in a couple of weeks so I have been studying

Last October we went three times and they wouldn't take reservations. You could however give them your mobile number at the door if there were no tables available then and they'd text you when one was available. Alternatively you could wait in the bar area and they'd come and find you when the table was free. For both these options they'd give you a rough estimate of how long the table would be, the longest we waited was 25 minutes.

As an aside they weren't the fastest at taking your order or bringing your food once ordered, we waited nearly 40 minutes one time just for the food to come. Likewise there was no rush in bringing the bill, 15 minutes after asking for it on our last visit. Good job the food is great I suppose.
