Couple Of Questions

A couple of questions.

We originally booked to have dinner at 1900PF at 8pm but Fantasmic starts at 7pm that night. What time would you suggest changing our dinner reservation to?

Also on our last night we are there at Magic Kingdom Wishes starts at 8pm and we have an 8:45pm reservation at Chef Mickeys. Should we change this and what would you suggest changing it to?

Thanks for any suggestions offered :)

For your first question, you will have trouble getting to the Grand Floridian after Fantasmic that quickly. I would definitely change that one.
As for the second one, you'll be cutting it close, but it is doable. Wishes lasts about 12 minutes, but if you can book right out of the park and catch the resort monorail, the Contemporary is your first stop.

Agreed. There is no way you are going to make it from HS to GF after Fantasmic in that sort of time frame. Even if you dodge all the post-Fanstasmic crowds and hit the bus just as it's about to pull off, it's gonna be VERY tight. I would definately push your 1900 PF reservation.

As far as Wishes / CM, you can probably make that, but it's still really tight. Again, you'd have to hit everything just right to make it happen, but, even though unlikely, it's a better idea then trying to get from HS to GF after Fantasmic.

If it were me, I'd push both reservations back a half hour or so, at the minimum.

I agree with the 1 hour push back...and try to get to Chef Mickey's well before your ressie time. It will probably be crowded from the post-Wishes crowd.

I've managed to find a 9:20pm Chef Mickeys reservation for that night after an 8pm wishes. Not sure if this is better but it's certainly better than an 8:45pm lol

As for GF the latest I could find was 8:25pm

You should be fine with both, I think. Your 1900 PF is still pushing it, but I think you can make it if you and your group hoofs it straight to the busses. Also, I'd keep an eye out for Contemporary or Poly busses as well. If you miss the GF bus, you can snag one of them and take the Monorail over to dinner. When you exit Fantasmic, I'd take the southern exit (the one all the way to house right, stage left). This will take you down Perimeter Road. Right as you pass Beauty and the Beast, look to your left for a small alley. It won't be hard to miss, as the "bathroom" crowd will most likely be forming there. This cut through will bring you out right next to the front gates.

Have fun!

It felt good when they asked for special occasions putting first visit lol. You can tell it's my first visit too with the amount of questions I have lol

And thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to look out for other buses. Also wouldn't it be possible to take a bus to the MK as well and then take a monorail to GF or will there be a lot of people heading over to MK once Fantasmic finishes and to forget that option?

Sorry for all my questions lol

Yes and no. You could do that, but it's gonna be a haul. First, busses do not run between the parks. So, you can't get a bus to MK from HS. You have to hop through a resort.

So, if you took this route, you'd have to hop a bus to another resort, then snag a bus to MK, then walk through bag check to get to the resort monorail, then wait on the monorail, and, with respect to your 1900 PF, the resort line would be going the wrong direction, so you'd have to go through Contemporary, TTC and Poly before you'd get there.

It would take MUCH longer.

No worries. Everyone has a first time! Good thing you are doing pre-planning so you don't have needless disappointments when you get there. Ask any questions you want. If you haven't caught on, pretty much everyone enjoys them!

The first trip is very special. Have fun!

I keep laughing at myself lol. All I keep telling myself is it's better to be doing preparation five months out than to get there and find out what we thought we could do we can't cause we haven't made time for it and etc lol.

Thanks for the help btw :)

The first advice I give to anyone that asks me is to start planning at least 8 months out, figure out dates and length of stay, what resort, etc... Then be prepared with a list of where you want to eat 180 days from arriving. So many noobies end up disappointed that they can't just walk up to Le Cellier at 7PM during free dining and get a table.

The next advice is don't try to "do it all", you won't succeed and you'll need a vacation from your vacation when you're done!
