No permission. Just luck, and like @raven24 said, keeping it low-key. People have faced Mickey's boot of ejection for doing this. In order to wed on property legally, you have to purchase a very costly Fairytale wedding package.

Congrats to this couple for pulling it off successfully!

This happens more than you think, just doesn't make the news. I knew someone who got married during Wishes. 2 Ex Castmembers met during wishes and wanted to get married during wishes. I think there was like a total of 10 people to witness it.

This is my favourite ride, but I wouldn't want to ever do it this way. It just would be too rushed, and wouldn't be special to me at all. To each their own though. This couple wouldn't have had any of their family members there at all. They wouldn't have been able to share this moment with anyone. I don't know, part of a wedding is having people you love share it with you.

Did you read the article?? They had all their family/friends on the ride with them. They kept it as quiet as possible so as not to disturb other guests. But their friends/family were on it. The ride clearly means something to them, or they wouldn't have chosen it. So it was likely more special than a random field or someones backyard. And they went on to celebrate in DL, Hawaii and then back to DL (I believe was the order). So it was well planned, well thought out and sounds like it turned out exactly how they wanted it to : )
