Could this impact DAK?

Not trying to invent something new to worry about - just looking for some thoughts on this project and whether it might impact any sightlines at DAK.

From yesterday in the Orlando Biz Journal by Anjali Fluker:

New $3.3B vacation village coming soon near Disney

"An “ambitious” 87-acre luxury mixed-use vacation village is in the works near Walt Disney World featuring five gleaming towers, shops, restaurants and resort amenities.

Orlando-based Magic Development LLC will start work on infrastructure in July on the first phase of its massive development called Magic Place, which will involve a 25-story, 251-unit resort tower, along with 40,000 square feet of retail space and a 20,000-square-foot office building on U.S. Highway 192 east of State Road 417."

First, the reference "east of State Road 417" was almost certainly a mistake by the writer - she should have said east of State Road 429. That's where this company's current projects are.

A 25 story hotel with todays style of high ceilings and perhaps a lobby in a high atrium style could easily top 375 feet, or maybe even 400.

A look at Google Earth and this building will be about 3/4 mile from Dak turnstyles, just over a mile from Everest, just under a mile from the Lodge, and about a mile and a half from the farthest point of KS.

I'm just wondering if this will be visible from anywhere inside the park. I'd hate to be on safari and see this in the distance. And with DAK soon to be a nighttime park, a brightly lit structure could really be an unwelcome intrusion.

At the least, I imagine you'd see this from the EE lift hill and from many of the balconies at the Lodge.

I'm sure there are smarter people than me that could offer a thought or two on this.

If you want to have a look in Earth, I used the search term Magic Village Resort, Black Lake Road, Kissimmee, FL

I wouldn't think you see it from the Safari? I suppose if you were actively looking for it from Everest then you'd possibly see it but it won't be casting shadows over the park or anything like that. It wouldn't be a first anyway, you can see the Marriot World Centre Hotel from Typhoon Lagoon from atop the mountain quite easily.

Will give me something else to look at on the climb up Everest.

I thought there was enough of a conservation buffer around DAK that would prevent something like this being that close. How close would it be to the night time holding pens for the animals... that will have an impact.

If this is indeed on the 429, you won't be able to see it from the E:E lift hill unless you turn all the way around in your seat. It will be behind you.

And you can see nearly all of Orlando from that viewpoint anyway so it wouldn't matter.
