Good morning all....
quick question, me and my two friends are reg. for the PHM, I put down my finish time as 2:06 (that's my finish time from my last half) my two friends put down 2:30
would we be in the same corral for the PHM??

Most likely, no. They will probably be a corral or two behind you. If you want to run with them, you can drop back to their corral, but they cannot move up to yours. :)

thanks, i didn't think 24 mins difference would make a huge difference for a separate corral, oh well, thank you!!!! that's what we had to do for the TOT 2 yrs ago, 3 of us moved back to run with a friend that didn't have the same pace.

runDisney has been changing their corralling lately...I'm guessing when you did ToT there were 4-6 corrals? Now there are more corrals then there used to be. For example, here are the corrals for 2014 (you would have been in D and your friends would have been in H, I think?). They aren't guaranteed to be exactly like this for 2015, but I would guess they will be similar.

LOL, 24 minutes is a world of difference in a half marathon. It took me 9 years to drop from a Half time of 2:30 to the 2:06 I ran this past May! :)

Yeah. When you figure that only 12 people broke 1:30 last year, over 20,700 people finished between 1:30 and 3:30. (Max time to finish on/under pace) Breaking it down even more, about 700 people finished in under 2 hours, about 3,900 in under 2:30, with just about 10,000 under 3 hours. Which roughly corresponds with what @Ariel484 posted. About half the runners last year finished between 3 and 3:30. Then when you add in the fact that the faster corrals also hold less people, 24 mins could potentially be a long ways away from each other.

Wow, I never looked closely at the finishing statistics like that. It took over 3 hours to for half the field to cross the finish line! That says a lot about the people running a Disney race.

I'd be interested to look at a similar breakdown with the WDW Half vs. the Princess Half. My guess is the percentage of people finishing in the 3:00-3:30 range is less.

Well, let's see what I can pull up. In 2014 at the half in January looks like about 100 broke 1:30, 1750 broke 2, 6450 broke 2:30, 12,700 broke 3, so about 7,500 taking longer than 3 hours with the last people finishing at like 4:20, 4:30. Percentage wise the Princess was .05%, 3.4%, 18.8%, and 48.4% for the 1:30, 2, 2:30, and 3 windows. The WDW Half was .49%, 8.6%, 31.8%, 62.6% respectively. The over 3 group went from 51.6% at the Princess to 37.4% for WDW. These are all back of the napkin numbers, but give you an idea of the ranges.
