I know CSR has some construction - How bad is it? What are pros and Cons of this resort?

We are looking into staying here in March because it's the cheapest resort with 2 Queen beds (my dad is really tall and needs a queen bed). (excluding CBR - which, from what i've read is all construction at the moment)

My dad, though, has a temper and attitude problem at times (due to severe back pain) if he has to take a longer detour or if a place is too spread out or not even enough ground for his electric scooter. This will be his first time with the scooter and usually we stay at Riverside, but even with the promos, it's outside our budget, if not sold out.

What kinds of things can you tell me about this resort? Is there decent amount of space for 3 adults plus the scooter in one room? How far spread out is it compared to Riverside?

My husband and I stayed there once many years ago. We asked for closest to the main building and was put in Casitas Bldg #3. It still seemed like a long walk. But if you look at the map, it is the closest to the main building. The grounds were beautiful with gardens and tropical plantings. I remember the room as being large and very clean. It was just the 2 of us, but that's what we thought. It seems larger than POR rooms (where we now stay), but it supposed to be the same size. Maybe because it is a convention resort? Anyway, we loved it. It was spread out but we never went to the pool area or other areas. The sidewalks are wide and clear. I would not hesitate to stay there again. In fact, we got notice of a great deal at CS for our trip in end of Feb and early March. We are thinking it over, as we don't want to stay at a dog friendly resort, which is what POR is now. Your Dad will have to know that long walks are everywhere at WDW, even at the resorts. Hope this helped.

The construction seems to be a minor problem according to all reports. CSR receives a lot of complaints about how spread out it is but on our numerous stays we found that not to be a problem. We feel since we are at Disney walking is part of the deal and can take any bus to get to the main area. We have had baby cribs in our rooms with 2 adults, 2 children, and an infant. There would be plenty of room for the scooter based on my experience. Of course everything is about attitude and we make every effort on our Disney vacations to just focus on all the positive things. We are booked for June 2018 at CRS. Hopes this helps a little.
