Hey Everybody,
I'm going to be visiting Florida in August this summer and staying at Corondo Springs. For all you people that have already visited the hotel, do you have any tips or recomendations for when we arrive?
thanks!

Patricia :)

If you don't like to or can't walk too far try to stay in the main or front buidings. The others can be quite a walk but the grounds are beautiful, I believe bldg. 8 is near the main pool. This is a great resort, have fun.

Don't eat at the food court. The "new" system that is in place is a total waste of time. You get a card that gets stamped at each food station with your dish. Then you wait for the cook to prepare it for you. If there are a few people waiting for the same thing (like pizza) there is mass confusion due to a lack of a line and numbers. I found the cooks to be rude. One even threw a pizza at my mother instead of handing it to her! And after all this you are charged 10% gratuity! Not worht it.

For breakfast try the breakfast buffet at the Maya Grill. Great food. Great choices. FREINDLY STAFF! And its $11.95 a person.

Ask for a room close to the main building if you dont like to walk far. This resort is huge! The bell staff will take you to your room on a golf cart so you dont have to walk.

Its a great resort EXCEPT for the food court. I hope you have a good time!

Any other questions? Just PM me!

CS is a fun resort but the convention center can color the mood of your stay depending on what kind of convention is there. We found less families and more bussnies people, which made the resort quiet and the busses empty!!! However it was not as much as a vacation getway for me because the convention was the same kind of people I work with!!! (too close to home!!) One thing I LOVE about WDW is everyone else is also on vacation!

CS is the only resort we ever had problems checking in and our room was not ready when we got there. Other then that no other major complants and the resort itself is fabulous! The pool is wonderful and the hot tub really big!!!!! Be prepared the food court is not as convenent as DL (AKA port orlens)!

I agree with what has already been posted about the food court, I didn not like the new system there at all. Aside from that I had a great experience there. I found the resort to be beautiful, the rooms spacious and the CMs very freindly and helpful. Also, the bus service was excellent, we never waited more than 5 mins for transportation to or from a park. Another perk is that you can see some of Illuminations RoE if you sit outside on the little patio right outside of the restaurant/food court, which we did on a few occasions. Coronado is by far my favorite resort. If you have any other questions, just let me know!

My family stayed at Coronado in 1996 when it first opened. I agree with the other posters that it is a beautiful resort. I also think it has one of the best pools on property, the jaguar slide and temple are very cool. I also agree that the food court is a major disadvantage. We had similar experiences. We have yet to stay at Coronado again because of the food court. It seemed silly to us to pay more for the same food you get at other resorts. The food court is operated by an outside company, that's why it's run differently than other food courts on property. I think that if we hadn't become so used to the way other food courts were run and the prices that were charged, we wouldn't have had a problem with the pepper market. It's all a matter of priorities and prespective I suppose. :) So my biggest suggestion would be (if Possible) take a trip to win dixie and pick up some things to have light meals and snacks in your room and eat in the parks the rest of the time. :D Enjoy your trip!!

Coronado is a big beautiful resort, I stayed in August 2000 and think that it is the best moderate resort. Here are my professional disney vacationeer comments:

- Remember, I am a proffesional.

- Call and request a room in the Cabanas, it is close to the main pool and also the main building.

- The food is bad news. It is not good at all. :hurl: After you try it and agree with me hop on a shuttle to boardwalk for you next meal. Boardwalk is right next to Coronado and you have the options of eating at Swan & Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Club, and Boardwalk.

- The main pool is beautiful.

- It's fun to rent the bikes there cause the place is so big.

- There are really cool hammocks under palm trees that you can relax on.

I love Coronado and had a great time there. I'm sure that you will too!:)

I just got back from spending a week there on the 7th! It was my second stay there, and I appreciate what others have been saying about the food court adjustments.

I wouldn't say the Pepper Market food court is by any means terrible, but it does have its problems. The food is expensive (but you should be expecting that, anyway) and if you go there during major meal hours, you'll probably have to wait for a bit, but on the other hand the food is delicious. The Wok station has probably the best Chinese food on WDW property, and the portions are all quite nice (with the exception of breakfast).
