Coronado or another resort.

I am going to Disney this summer and my parents say we will be staying in the corinado springs resort. Is there another moderatly priced resort that would be better.

The CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT is awesome. The pool is really nice, and the decor is aweseom.

The only thing is that it is a huge resort, constructed around a lake, so if you stay at the wrong place, it could be quite a walk to the lobby (however, there are 5 bus stops around the resort) If you are a person that likes to relax after a long day at the park and eat at the hotels restaurants, make sure to request a room near the lobby. There is a restaurant there , i think its called the market place. Its great. It is a sit down/self serve restaurant. You have a waiter, but hes really only for drinks. You get up, get your food, which is laid out by cuisine, (oriental, american, italian,)
It has a great selection!

Have a good time, and you'll love the Coronado Springs.

I loved Coronado Springs, but I absolutely hated their food court. You have to wait in a line to get in to be seated, then they have this dumb stamping system to figure out what you ordered, then you eat and a waiter takes your plates away. Here's the catch...at the end, they tack either 10 or 15% onto the tab to pay for the waiter as a tip...but you KNOW the waiter doesn't get the money...I much prefer seating myself and bringing my plates to the trash can and not paying the tip...completely unnecessary. Other than that...the resort is beautiful

Here's another vote for Port Orleans Riverside

IMO, Coronado is too spread out, and nothing is centrally located. Even the close rooms are a bit of a walk from the lobby.

Caribbean Beach is decent, too. The internal bus service there is the best at any WDW resort, and the overall facilities are enjoyable.

Dogs is right, the food court is awful. You do more walking there than anywhere else too. The rooms are nice, but for the money Riverside is a MUCH better resort.

This just may be my experience, but the Coronado guest relations are not as good as other Disney resorts. Maybe it is because it is geared to conventioneers, but Dixie Landings and Carribean Beach have much friendly cast members. I stayed there in August and liked the atmosphere, but was unhappy with the service. I wrote a letter to guest relations and complained. When they got back to me by phone Guest relations gave me the impression that quite a few people have the same complaint. They told me it was a problem they would address and sent me some $50 disney dollars for my troubles.(Disney is not just going to send you money - I had two specific problems which will just bore everyone so no reason to mention them) POINT - I would choose the Carribean or Dixie Landings before Coronado! (I have never stayed on the Port Orleans side)

FRENCH QUARTER IF IT IS OPEN!!!!!!!!

I loved that resort. The theme is great and the resort is beautiful. It is small and you can get everywhere within 30 seconds. The food court is nice and so is the pool. And the River Cruise to DTD is so nice. Definately go there instead of Coronado.
