Cornonado Springs or Carribbean beach

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice really, looking to book a resort for a trip I am planning next year 27th of September to 11th of October 2014, we are booking a moderate to get the QS DDP we don't want the regular plan so wouldn't upgrade to a deluxe.

In the past I have stayed at POFQ and loved it and ideally I would stay there, however it is around £400 more for whatever reason and as such I am left with either CB or CS as they are around the same price.

We won't have a car so I'll be relying on Disney to get us to and from the parks.

Just looking for some advice really and which one people think is best and why?

Coronado, but please take note that location will make or break your stay there. Try to be close to the bus stops, because nothing is worst than a long walk after being in the parks all day.

If you go with CBR book a preferred room. The resort is very large and a preferred room puts you near a bus stop, the food court, and main pool. Well worth the extra money.

We've always just asked for a standard room "in Aruba or Jamaica near the footbridge" which has put us very close to both the food court and the bus stops. We love CBR with its beach theme, hammocks, and steel drum music, but there is something to be said for those Queen size beds at CSR.

Thanks very much for all of your help everyone a quick question do we have to tip at the counter service at Coronado springs? Although we won't be eating there all the time if we are grabbing a quick breakfast and using our refillable mugs I feel this could add up over 2 weeks?

I like everything at CBR much better...except the rooms. The drapes clash and they have a lot of cartoon stuff in them. A few days is okay, but staying in those rooms for that long...you really need to love Nemo. A lot.

So, I vote for CSR. It's pretty there and the rooms are much easier to take.

I leave a dollar or two at the CSR food court. Not everyone does and you need not. You have to stand in line for your food (sometimes more than one line.) You have to stand in line to pay. All they really do is bring your beverage.

I don't take the bus and didn't figure bus stop locations into the recommendation at all.

If you are eating in the Pepper Market (CS's food court) yes. There is however a quick service counter (bakery, sandwiches, drinks, etc) where you do not need to tip.

If you are on the QS DDP, any service fee added into your bill is included. (At one time a tip was automatically added to your bill at check out. I do not know if they still do this or not, as I have only used the DDP there, not cash). Like the other poster said, if the drink person was good, I will leave a dollar or 2.

CSR is the only food court that charges a fee to eat there, but I think it is only at dinner. I'm not sure, so check! But I think you get to skip the fee at breakfast.

Like a PP said, you can eat outside and not pay the fee, which is good on days where it isn't hot, cold, windy or raining. You could also take it to your room. Or just eat your dinners somewhere else. That's what we did. :)

No. There's no "fee." Pepper Market is a counter service restaurant that has waitresses and waiters that grab drinks for you. A 10% tip is automatically added for that reason. Or you can order your food to-go and aviod the tip charge ;)
CSR also has Cafe Rix, they serve hot foods and pre-made salads and wraps as part of a quick service credit on the DDP. You won't need to tip anyone there.

I haven't stayed at either, but I've "resort-hopped" to check out the general ambience of each resort, and I was incredibly impressed with Coronado Springs. I had heard so many bad remarks about how it "feels like a convention hotel" and such, but the place is gorgeous, the staff very friendly, and on the scale of value to deluxe, I felt it leaned more toward "deluxe" than most of the other moderates. I'd go for Coronado!

Are you sure about that?

According to the beverage people, the money is NOT a tip paid to them.

I believe you only pay the fee if you sit inside. If you take the stuff to go, no fee.

Has it changed??
