So has CoP and TimeKeeper closed again or have they stayed open past Jan 2nd?

I was really hoping that both rides will be open since they are doing rehab on both Splash and Space when I am there (Feb 7-10)

Thanks for the info

CoP and Timekeeper have been closed for approx. 2 or 3 weeks now. There is no scheduled date for reopening. They are still listed as "seasonal attractions."

They are confirming that CoP will reopen (the executive secretaries) either in Spring Break or in the Summer.

And CoP will NEVER be closed forever.

NEVER!!!

ugh! YOU DO NOT CLOSE ATTRACTIONS WITH TWO-HOUR WAITS!!! I don't see why this is so hard to understand. The ride is popular, and therefore PERMANENT. Imagineers do not have the power to close attractions anyway. And they don't have power to make the rides come about. They come up with ideas and the management makes the decisions. The management likes Test Track, which is why they green-lighted Mission: Space: because thrill rides that are well-done are extremely popular. Don't get your hopes up. World of Motion and Horizons will return roughly when Toad does.

What I mean is ONE DAY it will close. One day, everything HAS to close. Be it next year or three thousand years from now. I mean this by mechanical failure. Then, they may want to rebuild it and add more to it.

Looking at the facts here...there isnt much keeping CoP open. Its age makes it hard to maintain and expensive to keep running (it uses more power than most the other rides in WDW), as you yourself mentioned..its unreliable....it has very little "intrest" value to a large demographic (most teenagers wouldnt go to it), the building itself is ugly (Sorry...low blow), and It is in a prime location that I am sure Disney would LOVE to use for something else.

ooo..a debate..hehe::

The Christmas rush as you mentioned really isnt THAT impressive. The parks were crouded (as they usually are that time of year) and people are more willing to get on ANY line if they see even a few people waiting. Thus why its only opened SEASONAL. They know it wouldnt get enough people in there on a normal day...unlike..say...test track ;)

Yes..The Teen Demographic is only a SMALL portion of the total attendence at WDW, so I will retract that statment...

It costs a lot to keep it in shape even when it isnt running. So even in its "seasonal" status, it is still draining money...We all know how eager disney is to keep an attraction open when there isnt any outside funding ;)

Now for some geek stuff:::

Ok...so...lets assume that CoP goes thru about 10,000 people a day (being optimistic here)...compaired to the amount of people who go to WDW every day, thats a really small #. The neighboring attractions handle at least twice that and at a much faster rate.

The way I see it right now, the only thing keeping CoP open are::

1.) Lack of replacment
2.) Large Historical significance (Keep in mind that this wont really help it once they get an idea of what to do to replace it)

Petitions never help, especially since (as I mentioned above) Unless you can get over a million signatures, it wont look impressive. Compaired to the yearly attendence of WDW, it all looks very small.
