Cooling Bench at Epcot Gone?

Hi all,

I did a search but didn't see any posts regarding this. I just got back from a week at the world, in fact I'm in the airport right now, and I noticed today that the bench that blows cool air on you in Epcot that was in front of Innoventions is gone. Is it gone permanently? Anybody else notice this?

There is however a something similar in a Coca-Cola exposition near TT.

Never seen or heard of this. Could you look at it and tell that it blew air on you, or did you have to sit on it to find out.

I remember it from last February, I think it was between Mouse Gear and Test Track. Maybe they move it around within FutureWorld?

i don't know but it never did seem to work when i was there... maybe a quick fixer upper.

I've seen the talking trash can but never the cooling bench!

If the trash can didn't talk, you wouldn't know that it was supposed to, so how would know if the bench is not cooling?

I think the bench you are talking about was located where the new tip board was installed. It is on Future World East on the left as you walk towards Mission: Space. Maybe I am mistaken, but I think that is where it was.

The cooling bench was located immediately to the left after you passed under the Innoventions East Breezeway, a tad before where the new tip board is. I'm not sure of its current status, though. For those of you who aren't sure which it was, it was a bench with a large metal frame around it, and solar panels on top. It would either blow cool air on you during the summer or headed air during the winter. Because of the solar panels, it powered itself.

Yes that is the bench I was referring to. However I just noticed as I was leaving the Universe of Energy, that the bench is no longer there. It has been replaced by a regular old bench. But you can see the footprint of where the metal framework used to be in the concrete.

PUSH only comes out at certain times, but if you ask a Cast Member in the area, they can tell you when and where to look for him.

I think that the bench is only out in the summer when its really hot out

I noticed it was gone last week as well. I just assumed that they were fixing it, as when I was there in Jan06, May06 and Aug06, it was not working at all. I had read about it in the Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot, and wanted to see it in action, but never "got it". I guess it's been broken and they decided to fix it.

There is also a talking garbage can and water fountain in Epcot. The talking garbage can in Epcot is located in the Electric Umbrella (look for the garbage can with the wires coming out of it. This is different then Push, the moving trash can who can interact with you.

Push is over at Electric Umbrella next to the toppings bar!! Not the one coming from mission space, but the other one near the hallway that leads to innoventions east and the bathrooms.

The bench was removed in 2005 for the temporary tip board behind it. Once the tip board went away, the bench didn't return. Everytime I went by it never seemed to be working anyways...

Actually the bench was there in August, but disappeared between September-October.
