converting DVD-Rs into movie files

No, it's all legit! He means that in another thread he mentioned a fun encounter he had with Jasmine at Disney World ( http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=64444 ) that was captured on home video. He would like to share it with us by converting it to an on-line format but does not know how to capture the video from DVD to PC. I suggested that someone here may be able to help.

Once in his PC he can use Movie Maker to compress it.

Any will do. As long as I can edit it on Windows movie maker.

I can't remember what format it was. I 'll look back at it later. All I know is that I couldn't open it in Windows movie maker.

okay, i've put the DVD-R in my computer and opened it. I see a 2 IFO files, two BUP files, and three VOB files. How do I convert these? :veryconfu
