converting DVD-Rs into movie files

.... If its already on DVD as an MPEG-2, why...... why would you need to covert?

No, it's all legit! He means that in another thread he mentioned a fun encounter he had with Jasmine at Disney World ( http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=64444 ) that was captured on home video. He would like to share it with us by converting it to an on-line format but does not know how to capture the video from DVD to PC. Once in his PC he can use Movie Maker to compress it.
