Sad news, prayers to the Jimenez family today. :(

Looking at that ABC helicopter footage, and then lining it up with the Google Earth, this appears to be directly to the northwest of Toontown just beyond the Falcon ride. The structure at the top of the screen is the float warehouse, and the structure at the bottom of the screen is the "rehearsal hall" as noted by Google.

This is likely construction attached to Mickey's Railway ride, as the adjacent buildings are the ones being torn down for ride construction.

The sister in law is on twitter going off at Disneyland for this. Poor thing.

Oh, dear. Legally, she probably can only go off on the contractor or sub-contractor that Disney hired for this construction.

But when you are mad it's probably easiest to take it out on the big, evil company with the deep pockets instead of the fellow blue collar worker who didn't secure the panel correctly, or whatever it was that led to this accident.

Yeah.... I think her anger is very misguided but I’m not here to tell someone how to grieve.

This just made the news down here in San Diego on KOGO AM 600. According to KOGO this accident happened during (paraphrasing the radio reporter) "the installation of an underground HVAC system for a new ride being built at Disneyland. A crane accidentally hit an HVAC box which knocked over the steel plate that killed Mr. Jimenez who was working in a nearby trench." :(

Sounds like it was construction for Mickey's Railway just north of Toontown, judging by the report of construction on "new ride" and the ABC TV helicopter footage between Toontown and that parade float warehouse.

It was only a flesh wound until the ambulance left the park.
