Well all i can say is that the contemporary is the #1 Hotel at WDW!:sohappy:

You are not crazy, it's amazing how fantastic can be getting out of the monorail when coming from MK and smell that unique fragance that is only Contemporary Trademark. I always wondered where it came from. Probably from the 4th floor, and the many restaurants and variety of food, since when you enter the hotel from the main door (ground level) you will see that it is not the same smell. TRY IT. When you use the escalator to get to many floors until fourth, there is a floor (which I'm not sure if it's 2 or 3) which has another peculiar smell, which is very disctinctive from the rest of the hotel.
However, it's not hard to see that the other WDW mostly the Deluxe ones, also have there particular smells, for example the Floridian makes you feel you are in a real palace, while the Polynesian is so authentic you can almost smell the actual islands. Also the Wilderness Lodge and wood smell, and the Boarwalk are other examples.

ALL of disney has smells and I love them... it just wouldnt be the same w/o those smells... I hear ppl complaining about how the monorails smell.. and frankly.. I think the smell adds the fun of it all... lol mildew...lol :lol:

I believe you can buy bottles of the Contemporary "smell" in the gift shop.

NOBODY ATTACK ME.....
I have never stayed at the Contempory. I have only taken the monorail there and looked briefly around. Why does everyone like it so much? Maybe you guys can give me an incentive to stay there next time.

Hmmmm......
Its really hard to say but here are the Main Reasons why I stay there every WDW Trip.
1) Central Location
The MK is only about 15 mins away by monorail, 5 if you choose to walk, Epcot is only bout 25 minutes away by monorail, and the best part is, if your staying in the tower rooms, the monorail platform is only a quick ride down the elevator from your rooms.
2) Theming
I have a feeling that im going to sound a little crazy saying this, but the contemp has the most "Mild" Disney theming on property, and its simple and laid back. As old as it is, it still has that Modern feel to it. We stayed at the Boardwalk in 2001, because the Contemp was sold out, and we hated the room, because it was smaller (the contemp has the biggest non suite deluxe rooms on property) and the theming was stuck on heavy at the boardwalk.
