Contemporary-Issues with walking to MK for opening?

I recently read a comment on another WDW site that mentioned people reporting being held up at the security checkpoint on the walkway from CR to MK for over 15 minutes prior to opening and watching as the Disney buses carrying guests from other resorts drove by and dropped them off ahead of them.

I've tried to do a search of some of the more popular WDW forums but haven't found any other comments along those lines. Has anyone else experienced this or read reports about it elsewhere?

We took the monorail from the Contemporary and were in the MK at 8:30. We prefer the monorail over walking.
Hi Tuvalu! Was that for a 9 am 'official' opening, or 8 am?
How were the lines once you got inside the park at that hour? (I'm wagering that you made a beeline for BTMRR...lol)

9 am was official opening. And I was with toddlers so our first attraction was Jingle Cruise!

I’ve read plenty of reports saying they usually open the security check about an hour before the official park opening.
Perhaps there was some delay? I don’t think it happens all the time but it’s always going to be a possibility. Just as people waiting for buses could find the first bus doesn’t show up at their resort until 30 minutes before the park officially opens.
I wouldn’t worry about it.

It's not surprising. We were there last year during the marathon and I've never seen so much fumbling mismanagement in my life. No bus' running, cast members telling you to go the wrong way and huge waits for the monorails. To get to MGM we waited 15 minutes for the bus before we figured out it wasn't running. Monorail to the transpo center then another to Epcot. And finally a boat to MGM. All while totally not listening to the CM's sending you in the wrong direction. So a small wait is nothing lol
