Contemporary Bus Service

I was wondering how the bus service for Contempoary works. Are there multiple stops? We stayed at ASSP on our last trips and the bus lines were separated in the front of the hotel by each destination but I only seen one stop at Contemporary when we went to Chef Mickey's. Thanks!

Contemp only has buses to DHS, AK and DTD. Monorail service takes guests to Epcot or MK [if they don't want to walk to MK]. So they just show up and take whoever is waiting for the two parks or DTD. Same happens at Poly.

I've only stayed at the Contemporary once, and it's been a few years, but the bus service was the biggest letdown of our entire vacation.

Contemporary and Polynesian shared buses, which significantly slowed things down, but buses also didn't come nearly as frequently as buses at the value resorts. I've had better bus service at any of the All Stars than I did at the Contemporary. It was the one aspect that didn't seem distinctly superior when compared to the value resorts.

I'd also agree that Pop Century had far superior bus service compared to any transportation service at Yacht/Beach/BoardWalk/Dolphin/Wilderness Lodge/Caribbean Beach.

Not that the above transportation was terrible by any means, Pop Century was just that much better on both stays there. Frequent busses and no additional stops are huge plusses.

I've stayed at the CR twice, Dec. 07 & Dec. 08. Both times, we found the bus service to be pretty good. We shared with the Wilderness Lodge, and the bus stopped at CR 1st, so you were assured of a seat. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes, either at the resort or the park for the return ride.

I have stayed at both the Poly and the Contemporary several times and there is no good way to say it but the bus service at the monorail resorts stinks. Buses were shared by all 3 monorail resorts and travel times to AK, DHS and DTD were simply brutal.

Correct me if I am wrong, but couldn't you take the bus to the TTC and then switch to the monorail from there? (and vice versa)

If so, it is an option if direct bus service is too slow or the wait is too long. You would have to take two forms of transportation, and it probably doesn't save any time, but I have always felt that as long as I were moving, my time didn't feel wasted.

I hate standing still.

In the case of DTD you only option is to take the bus directly to your resort as there is no bus from DTD to the TTC or any of the parks.

Sometimes there it's been shared with Wilderness, but maybe it changes to that at peak times, and the buses were practically empty and this was first thing in the morning....

Now I found that to be more true at the Yacht Club, because you share with Beach, Boardwalk, and the Swan & Dolphin. When we stayed there in September and went to MNSSHP we left a bit early because we still had to drive home and the event, as you know, ends at 12, we left about 10, and the bus was standing room only and the night we went to DTD it was the same way. But I've never had issue with the Contemporary bus service but the Polys was terrible, never stayed at GF...
