Contemporary Booked In January

LAST JANUARY WE STAYED AT THE CONTEMPORARY FOR THE FIRST TIME. THREE THINGS WE LIKED THE MOST WERE THE MONORAIL,CHEF MICKEY'S(AS WE HAD A 10 YR OLD), AND WALKING TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM.TUESDAY MY WIFE TRIED TO BOOK AGAIN FOR THIS JAN. AND SHE WAS TOLD IT WAS ALL BOOKED UP FROM JAN. 6 THRU 27.I COULD BE WRONG , BUT IT SEEMS UNLIKELY THAT IT WOULD BE THIS BUSY AT THAT TIME , AND THREE WEEKS IS A LONG TIME FOR A CONVENTION.I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS HEARD IF THEY ARE PLANNING SOME REDO OF THE CONTEMPORARY AT THAT TIME. ALL THEY WOULD TALL HER OVER THE PHONE IS THAT IT WAS BOOKED.

There is a Military resort on Disney property called Shades of Green. SOG is being renovated and had to be closed during that time. Disney is allowing SOG to use a certain amount of rooms in the Contemporary to put up guest until the rehab is done.

Shades of Green has the entire North Garden Wing, but it is still kind of surprising that the south garden wing and the Tower are completly booked for that time.

I don't think they are pulling your chain. A friend who works there confirmed that they were booked solid the week in October that I intended to stay. For some reason the bookings were available for the following week. Sorry to hear the SOG rehab has messed up your plans

Why not try a different resort during your stay. You have already stayed at the contemporary so why not try something different. If you are willing to pay the few extra dollars go to the Polynesian. It was truly a terrific resort.
