Contemp Bay Lake view - room recommendations?

Good Morning!
Our next trip is in late October2013, and we will be at the Contemporary, Bay Lake view. Are there any recommendations as to what room area would be best- toward the Magic Kingdom end or "Ft. Wilderness" end? And is there a floor preference?
Know these are "requests, and not guaranteed" , but wanted to get some opinions and input.
Thanks, and Cheers to All,
Bill

All of the Bay Lake view rooms are great. Some people prefer a high floor (rooms start on 5th floor) but if someone in your party has a fear of heights and wants to sit on the balcony a lower level would be better. If elevator proximity is important to you, the elevators are located in the center of each floor so a room located mid-way would be your best bet.

We have stayed in the tower with a bay lake view and the south garden wing again at the very end with a great view of bay lake. We prefer the end close to bay lake tower away from Chef Mickey's. The 9th floor or above.

Hi Tuvalu!
Thanks for the great info.
It has been a long while since we have stayed here (usually we are at the Poly) We stayed once in the Tower, MK view, but have always loved Bay Lake. Beautiful views at all times of the day!
Tx, again!

Thank you, zurgandfriend!
We have heard that The Chef can get a wee bit noisy. The 9th floor sounds like a reasonabe heigth - high enough for view, w/o the nose bleed!
Thanks again,
Bill

Bay Lake View at the Contemporary is one of my favorite views in all of WDW! No matter where you are you can't go wrong!
Thank you, Doug!
A long time ago, we stayed in both the old Garden Wings - great memories. Loved seeing the launches to Discovery Island - miss it! I just put in a room request for 7th-9th Floor, Bay Lake Tower end.
Happiness is!
Cheers,
Bill

I've stayed in three different rooms at Bay Lake Tower. One was a "lake view" room that overlooked the pool. I believe it was on the 5th or 6th floor. We also switched rooms that trip for one night and had a "lake view" again, but it was much higher up. The one that was higher up overlooked the lake instead of the pool and I was also able to see Spaceship Earth at Epcot, Tower or Terror, and Expedition Everest and the Tree of Life.

My favorite room at Bay Lake would have to be the Magic Kingdom view room. Mine was on the 7th floor and at night when Wishes would be playing I could step out onto the balcony and see the fireworks and I could hear the audio being played from the 5th floor so that was really neat. It was also really cool to wake up and to see the Magic Kingdom once you opened up the curtains.

Thanks, Luv and disneyfan19!
We had a MK view from the 10th floor in the early 1980s - it was fantastic. But, this time wanted the Lake. It was great waking up to the Castle, though.
There are no losers at Disney!

I believe OP was referring to the Contemporary Tower with the room view of Bay Lake, not Bay Lake Tower.

It is great to relax on the balcony in the afternoon/early evening, since lake view rooms face east. And don't forget, you can watch the Electrical Water Parade from your room!

Roger, that!
And, I'll bet the sunrise over Bay Lake is a great view to share with the first cuppa of the day!
Thanks!
