So, did a little construction tour.

RESORTS - POLY

Poly is still removing windows and replacing them, on both floors of the main building. Including the walkway to the Monorail.

RESORTS - CONTEMPORARY

Things are progressing nicely. New flooring, carpet and paint for the interior area on the Fourth and Second Floors. Lots of construction on the new merchandise area and the new wing. The new Grab and Go is sweet.

PARKS - KINGDOM

Lots of work here. Adventureland is getting new concrete flooring on the Splash Entrance. Swiss family is still working on their entry. Lots of Halloween Decorations (light up at night).

The construction going on the fourth floor right now is for cabinets etc on the new interior merchandise area.

They are using a little mini crane to bring up the sections etc.

Something the video shows is that from the top floor to the 12th, they've got the corners boarded off on the east side there. The monorail is covered directly below those floors (see pictures linked) but something tells me, this is really just to protect construction workers from falling debris? Could totally be wrong.

Yes, the scaffolding around the monorail beams is just to protect them and passing trains from potential falling debris from the work being done on the floors above, and thanks to the OP for the update!

What are they doing on the floors above? How does this relate to the DVC expansion they may or may not be building?

The 4th floor shop should be open in a couple of months, and Tempo Grab and Go was set to open this past Sunday (I've been doing photo updates pretty much every week the last few months!) Lots going on, every week is different. Plus there is a temporary coffee shop back open in the lobby, but that was new a couple of weeks ago. I will be back Thursday, hopefully the Haunted Mansion will be open then too.

You know the more construction pictures I see at the Contemporary, the happier I am that I changed my reservations to the Poly. I am very happy that the Contemporary is getting upgraded, but glad I don't have to deal with all that construction.

It doesn't. Its related to the overall refurbishment of the resort itself...which may or may not be related to the not yet DVC C Shaped fifteen story tower which may or may not being built.:lookaroun Hope that clears it up!

I don't remember it like this last year. I believe I remember reading in one of the magazines (either the AP Mickley Monitor or the DVC Vacation Magic) that Main Street was getting some extra touches this halloween.
