Hello everyone,

To improve navigation and streamline discussions, I am consolidating the following subforums into a single, unified forum:
  • Evolving Epcot
  • Studios Redevelopment
  • Disney Springs
All threads from these subforums will now be part of WDW Parks News, Rumors, and Current Events. This change will allow for easier browsing and discussion of all Walt Disney World news topics in one place.

How It Will Work:
  • Threads will no longer belong to individual subforums.
  • Each thread in the WDW Parks News, Rumors, and Current Events forum will include a prefix to indicate its topic:
  • EPCOT for EPCOT-related threads
  • DHS for Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • MK for Magic Kingdom
  • DAK for Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • Springs for topics related to Disney Springs
These prefixes will help you quickly identify threads related to your interests. Clicking on a prefix will also show all threads in the forum with that prefix.

Why the Change?

I believe this will:
  • Simplify forum navigation, especially on mobile devices where the current subforums occupy a lot of space in the News and Rumors board.
  • Encourage more active discussions by bringing all WDW park news and rumors into one central forum.
  • Reduce fragmentation caused by multiple subforums.

What’s Next?

The consolidation will happen over the next few days. During this time:
  • You may see threads being moved and updated with the appropriate prefixes.
  • No threads or posts will be deleted—everything will remain accessible in the new forum structure.
If you have any questions or need help finding a specific thread, feel free to post here or send me a message. Any feedback is welcomed.

Very nice! The prefixes will be great to see, I almost exclusively visit the EPCOT threads but a lot of those haven't been put in the EPCOT subform lately anyway. Feels overdue to phase them out considering all three haven't been active "big redevelopment projects" in a long time.

Question, was the main navigation link tree moved down? I want to say I'm scrolling more to return to the forum index. Seems like the Home > Forums > ... link tree was up more previously and I have to scroll past "Similar threads" every time now.

Yeah I want that moved back please. Makes the website more difficult to navigate.
Agreed. It is just more visual clutter, in addition to all the unnecessary visual clutter added in the News, Rumors and Current Events forum today. 🤪Not every single thread needs a topic tag on it.

Can we have some way to pin our own threads at the top? The user-pinned threads are only viewed by that user at the top of the page instead of by everyone.

For example I'm always active in the Tiana and GOTG VQ threads, so it would be nice if I can pin them at the top so I don't have to scroll/go to next page and look for the respective threads.

At least in the Epcot subforum, the GOTG VQ thread was pinned at the top, so that helped with navigating for that thread.

You can't pin your own threads, but you can set bookmarks, which may help. Got to the VQ thread, and in the top right corner of a post in the thread and select the bookmark icon.

You can then go to your bookmark list (shown below), and quickly access those threads.

Does that help?

Yeah that works for now.

Only slight issue is that it would go to whatever post you bookmarked in the thread instead of the most recent post. So some additional clicks to get to the latest post.

But it’s a good solution, thanks!
