Connecting Rooms at AKL

Hi All!

I was wondering if it were possible to have connecting rooms between a Deluxe King and a Deluxe Queen/Bunks on the Conceriege level at AKL. My family (wife/3 kids) and I will be traveling with my parents later this year. We're planning on getting two rooms as mentioned above and thought having connecting rooms would be very useful for times when my youngest child takes his afternoon nap (He chould sleep in his room while the chosen adult(s) stay in the other room. This way the adults can talk. watch TV, etc. in their room and not disturb the sleeping child but they can keep the connectign door ajar to listen for him.

To be safe, contact the AKL directly before you arrive.

With frequent changes in rooms - right up until you check in - even simple requests, if possible, are not honored sometimes.

The room assignor does not schedule your rooms until 3 days before you arrive, based on what is available at that time.

One suggestion that worked for us in the past is to fax your roomrequest to the resort 4 days before your arrival with your specific requests clearly outlined. Hopefully they will be able to honor it.

Unfortunately, guests are at the mercy of the resort schedulers. We have found, however, that they are very accommodating whenever possible.

Thanks for the information brer Stitch however, I was more interested in whether or not that specific set up was even an option. In other words, if the only connection rooms at AKL are between to Queen rooms (instead of the King/Queen I mentioned) then I might change my thinking. I just wanted to know if it they even had rooms set up that way.

By doing just as suggested above we were able to get connecting rooms the last time we stayed at AKL. The one thing we found as a negative was that in the connecting rooms you do not get the extra dresser. You only get the three drawers under the TV. This really created a problem for my daughter and her family. With two little ones and many things to put in drawers they really felt that next time we will just ask for a room next door or across the hall and take the baby monitor to listen for the napping little ones. We asked to have an extra dresser moved into one of the rooms, but they can not move them around and don't have any extras. Housekeeping finally found us a plastic shelf set in one of their storage rooms and we put it up in the room and it worked quite well. The Housekeeping personnel were really wonderful to even find us the extra shelf. That 'old Disney Magic still does exist. Just a note for you. If you aren't staying long and don't have a lot to put in drawers - you will do just fine.

Have a wonderful time - AKL is a wonderful place to stay.

Meega, nala kwishta!
On our last trip we were given connecting rooms with my SiL on conceriege. We had a room with one king, and they had two queens.

I bet that they do have the set up you are looking for, so give them a call at the conceriege desk and ask.

Have fun!
