Connected Rooms

Hi all, just need some advice.

Staying at POR in August and have a Pool View Room booked (it was the only choice of room when we booked), our friends are also staying but have a garden view. We both have young children and would love connected rooms to allow 1 person to sit all 4 kids whilst the others go out.

With the difference in room category, would we be able to ask for connecting rooms? And if we did, would they likely upgrade them our downgrade us to sort it? Our friends would have booked a pool view but couldn't at the time.

I'm just wondering if its worth requesting and what the chances are of it being fulfilled.

Thanks as always :)

I'd say call, because to be a connected room, you need to be in the same classification, i.e., the rooms next to each other. If the pool view is the only thing left, then your friend will have to change rooms and pay the increase in price. The only way to fully figure out what your options are is to call Disney.

Even if you have the same room type and ask for connecting rooms they will not guarantee that you will get them. We asked for connecting rooms for our extended family group of 8 at POR last trip but were 9 or 10 rooms apart.
As suggested by DV above, give Disney a call and see if they can get you the same type of rooms. Then ask them to "link" the two reservations, and put a comment on both reservations that you would like a connecting room with the other reservation if possible. If all else fails, ask at the front desk when you check in. If there has been a cancellation they may still be able to accommodate your request even if nothing was available when the room assignments were made a day or two earlier.
