Big Hero 6 takes home the best Animated Film Oscar!
I did not catch that I have been flipping back and forth between Walking Dead and the Oscars.Don't forget about Feast for best animated short!
Yeah, that's two in a row for Disney animation feature films after not winning one since the category began in 2001.
Thanks in part to Ed CatmullWell, the quality and reception of WDAS is now back up to where it was during the hey-day of the Disney Renaissance, so it's good to see that being acknowledged. (The cynic in me says that the Academy has transferred over their Pixar bias since so many WDAS films feature input from the Pixar Brain-Trust).
Hahahaha! You're terribleYo, imma let you finish, but Lego Movie was the best animated picture of the year.
Adorable!
I think it's notable that in a year where many criticized the Oscars as being too "white" (including the host!), a film with an Asian-American lead and a diverse cast can stage the upset over How To Train Your Dragon 2.
If the Academy was THAT worried about diversity in this category, it would have awarded the Oscar to one of the two foreign-led films.
Loving America means I'm obligated to love Chris Kyle which means I'm obligated to love American Sniper which means I'm obligated to think it deserved to win over Birdman which means I'm probably racist since that was directed by a Mexican.1) Robot-Americans are just as deserving of recognition as humans. *This message paid for by RADS- The Robot Anti-Defamation Society.
2) Why do you hate America? Donald Duck loves America, and shouldn't we all aspire to be more like Donald Duck?

Strongly disagree. Didn't care for The Artist much, but Birdman was fantastic. The artistry that film, from the strong acting to the incredible editing, is first-rate.Birdman falls under the "Here's a feel-good movie about making a movie that allows the Academy to climb up it's own butt." See also- The Artist.
I don't view it that way. The film portrays actors and producers/directors as egotistical, self-absorbed, insecure jerks. The film plays well in Hollywood, but it does not glorify and give the industry some rallying "rah rah" cry that far-right wingers have for American Sniper.I notice you didn't dispute the "climbing up their own butt" argument, however.
