Computer Building Help!!!

Alright... I get to go home for three weeks after I graduate, and I plan on building a computer while I am there (It was one of the things I learned how to do so I might as well do it). I already have a case, power supply, motherboard and know what CPU I am getting. The thing is is that I want to Mod this thing up some (ie, nice little blue lights that you can see through the window in the side of my case). I am also unsure of what removable storage drives I want exactly. The lights and rounded IDE cables are what I really want advice on, and case fans. I would appreciate any advice you guys would have on where I could get this stuff for a good (read... cheap) price.

Case- Antec LANboy w/ SmartBlue 350W PS

M/B- Gigabyte GA 7N400-L1

CPU (will buy)- AMD Athlon XP 2200+

That gives you a general idea of what I have to work with, and I am open to any advice you can give.

Thanks.

You can get Blue LED's at radio shack -- but they are cheaper if you order them from BG Micro online.

The LEDs will need to be fed power from the 5 volt line of the power supply and you will need a resistor for each of them (depending upon how many you have and how you are wiring them up.

Also the LEDs will conduct current in only one direction -- that is, if you wire them backwards they will not light up.

There are a few sites on the internet that talk about wiring up LEDs in your case do a search on Google.

Something else you might want to do instead of blue LED's is use the new Ultra Violet LEDs -- they are just like other LEDs but put out black light... if you use them, you can use flourescent acrylic paints on the inside of your case and on come components to make them glow like in the movie TRON.

Super neat!

I know CompUSA carries see-thru cases with built in lights. If this is your first attempt at building a PC, you might want to keep things as simple as possible.
