Commute question?

Potential new hire! But I have a question about my drive to MK.
I live in the Tampa area, so about an hour away. Are there any other cast members that live over in this area? Most people are telling me it isn't worth the drive. I realize the pay isn't that great but it's something Ive always wanted to do and I don't want to miss the opportunity if I'm offered the job.

Are there other cast members with a serious commute?
Does anyone carpool? Or have route suggestions?
With interstate being so unpredictable as far as accidents and other commuters I'm thinking I would have to leave almost two hours before a shift. I may be getting ahead of myself but I really hope I get this!

It takes me about a half a tank of gas to get from Magic Kingdom to Downtown Tampa. Depending on how far out you live you will pretty much make no money because you'll spend it all on gas. You need to figure out what kind of mileage your car gets, calculate the distance from your place to MK, and consider how many hours you need to work a day to break even on gas and then try to get shifts that are longer than that so you have money to use for other things. Otherwise, you'll basically be paying out of pocket for the privilege of working at Disney. But it's really up to you.

I commute 84 miles one way. I car pool so for me its worth it. We have a fuel efficient car. We get about 2 1/2 days out of one tank of gas. I work 6- 8 hour shifts and try to pick up a few extra hours while I am there. It is a long hard commute. Getting home at 5 am sucks big time. We leave 2 hours early to allow for traffic. Some days we are just sliding in. If I did not car pool there is no way I would do it. Its not worth it.
You might explore being seasonal and working a regular job someplace else if the commute is a problem
