My first visit to EPCOT Center was in July of 84. I don't remember anything that wowed me in either CommuniCore East or West. I do remember enjoying Great American Census Quiz. I visited the quiz several times while I was there.

I do realize Innoventions of late has some open areas. However when we were at WDW in January we made a point to visit all of the exhibits. We really enjoyed our time spent there.

CommuniCore. I remember really enjoying walking around the building and all the exhibits and activities. I have never liked Innoventions much because it seems like it is a lot of advertisements for products and many of the activities have not been impressive like the video game console setups that almost any store that sells video games has set up. Now the only time we spend more than a few minutes in Innoventions is to go to the Disney Visa Cardholder Meet and Greet.

Communicore was more fun overall, however Innoventions was awesome when it first opened...had a LOT more exhibits, lots of interactive and actually futuristic stuff....now it's just boring save for a couple of things.

I much prefer the open air atmosphere of Communicore since they had the large 2-story windows open for most of it...now they're almost entirely covered up

In Communicore, the expo robotics would draw your portrait. Pretty cool for that time period. I remember picking up a phone and listening to news channels being shown on TV's. That was a long time ago.

Both were good in their own ways. I always got the impression that this area was intended to be regularly updated in an exhibit kind of way and when Innoventions first opened, it really felt like a more modern version but somewhere along the way it feels like someone just stopped caring. Today, we only spend time here if we get caught in the rain in that part of Future World. Sum of All Fears seems like the only impressive thing in either building but that one is really more fun to watch than ride since the graphics on it are so antiquated.

A lot of original Epcot was based on sponsorship financing. Over the years, sponsors have pulled out or apparently cut back significantly on what they're willing to spend and either Disney couldn't or wouldn't step in and carry things on their own. Innoventions seems to have been particularly hard hit by this.

I honestly don't remember communicore having much substance.

Neither do I, but I was probably too young for it when I was there.
I did like Smart-1, the robot, but other than that I found it rather boring.

I was a big fan of Innoventions when it first opened as both pavilions were completely full of new things to do and see.

Now, of course, if it isn't half-empty it sure seems that way, and most of the exhibits are very old and unambitious.
The only thing in there worth anybody's time is Sum of All Thrills.

My family has made a point of visiting the CommuniCore or Innoventions exhibits each visit and have found them to be not very interesting (other than the house of the future). They have seemed gimmicky over all.
While Walt wanted to show us what the future may hold through the EPCOT theme ... this has slowly vanished since EPCOT opened. Our annual visits are signs of hopefulness that something is going to fulfill Walt's vision. Even Spaceship Earth has become gimmicky with it's latest roll-out. Going backward down to the loading platform after selecting living under the sea or in space did not improve on the original ride which depicted the advancements in communications.
