Cast of Characters:
Me: 40-Something, Planning fool
DH: 40-Something, Nice-Guy (Commando-Style traveller, but WDW first-timer)
DD17: What can I say, she's a teenager? (Really a great girl!)
DS7: My Disney-Nut, co-conspirator/really, really, really, cool guy!!

The Trip: A family reward, as DH is running for District Judge in our county. He says the family needs a reward for putting up with the campaign drudgery over the past few months. I'm hoping it will be a celebratory trip, as in, "You've just won the election, what are you going to do now?" ---" I'm going to Disneyworld!!" says the new District Judge.

The Plan: Day 1(Fri)-- Travel to WDW. Arrive BCV around 2:30 pm. Check in and head over to Epcot for snacks, or late lunch, asap. Hope to see Eric Burden and The Animals at one of their performances (5, 7 or 8:15) for Flower Power concerts in connection with the Flower and Garden show. Pick up something for dinner and catch Illuminations for a great start to our Disney fun.
Day 2(Sat)--Try Early Entry at MGM. This will be the 2nd weekend of Star Wars weekends, but will try to stay "out of the way" of that stuff (we're more interested in RnRC and Tot). Head back over to Epcot before 3:00 pm PS at Garden Grill for Ice Cream Social. More fun in Epcot until 8:00 pm PS at Alfredo's.
Day 3(Sun)--Early Entry at Magic Kingdom. Go commando style until we're tired. Rest and swim at BCV.
Day 4(Mon)-- Early Entry at Animal Kingdom. Do Safari, Tree of Life, ITTBAB, and see if something else grabs us. Head back to Studios to see what we missed on Saturday-Star Tours, Millionaire; do over at RnRC?? Head to Brown Derby for 6:00 pm PS (Fantasmic Pkg). See Fantasmic.
Day 5--Morning and early afternoon at whatever park(s) we need to revisit. Rest and swim at BCV. DH and I go to Bluezoo for night out alone (5:45 PS). Catch up with the kids at Magic Kingdom for Spectro and Wished on our last night.
Day 6-- Cape May Character Breakfast. Pack. Go to Downtown Disney. Check out Disney Quest. Head back to the airport at 4-4:30ish for our flight home at 6:35.

DH and I are truly Commando style travellers. We'll see if the kids are up to the test. If not, we're pretty flexible. If we need to slow it down, or start out later, we'll do it. The whole point is to have fun.

Sounds like a fun trip. We never seem to make the Early Entry. Just once, I'd like to give it a try. Anyway, seems like you are organized. My only suggestion is don't let your trip be governed by your PS's. One vacation, it seemed like the main comment was, "no we can't do (whatever) because we have to leave now and head over for our dinner PS." Flexibility was our key from then on. Have a ball and good luck to your husband on the election.

A good plan of action - my only suggestion would be to change hitting EPCOT on day 1 and then again on day 2. Why not just do EPCOT on day 2 (2 PS) and do another park on day 1 or even DownTown Disney ?
Have fun (and all the best to the District Judge)

We wouldn't go to Epcot on day 1 except that DH really wants to see Eric B. and The Animals. Day 1 is their LAST day to perform... So Epcot is a must do that day.

District Judge in Arkansas presides over misdemeanor (criminal--traffic offenses, DWI, most offenses with less than 1 year jail time possible)and small claims (civil--under a certain $ amount in dispute) matters. DH has been Prosecutor in that court 10 years and our judge is retiring. It is a county-wide election. DH has drawn one opponent, but he is the favorite (as best we can tell).

Will your 17 year old be up to all the Early Entry Days? My 14 year old is not an early riser and for that matter never was. We typically only do 1 early entry a trip so that she doesn't get too crabby on us.

Will you be traveling when they are trying out the new Extra Magic Hours in the evening? You may want to try out one of the evenings if you are traveling then.

DD17 and early entry

Swimmom,
She may not be "up for it", but I think we'll try anyway. If we all don't stay up too late, we'll have a better chance.

If all the rumors which have been posted are true, we'll be there at the tail end of the testing period, which doesn't affect the itenerary as I posted it. If WDW ever officially posts the schedule (I haven't seen it there yet), I may have to revise something. I'm still hoping for extra time in the evenings. That would better suit our kids temperaments.

Hopefully you will be able to get some extra hours in the evening!

We actually got an e-ride night in May 2002. There was about one a week that year in May.

Have a great trip!:)

Thanks everybody! We're getting more excited every day. Between the election appearances and canvassing, etc., and getting the final details ironed out for this trip, I'm finding that the time is flying by. It makes the waiting easier to be so busy!
