I may have mentioned in a past thread that a few months ago my Dad was cast to play Stalin in a new program for the Discovery Cannel called Virtual History. The pilot is called "The Plot to Assassinate Hitler" and is due to be aired in the UK on 24th October. I'm sure it will also be seen elsewhere for anyone interested.

Whilst it does not feature Stalin, the Discovery Channel website has posted a clip from the show:

Add me to the list. Have you & your folks ever been in anything together?
Not on screen. However they met doing variety in Scotland and spent years on the stage together.

I would watch if I had the Discovery channel...the clip sure peaked my curiosity. I've always had this fascination with Hitler. Never agreed with his views, but can't deny him being an interesting historical figure.

I don't have Discovery channel, so I'll be getting someone to tape it for me.

Thanks for the offer. I'll be getting a friend with Sky to do the honours.

How cool, Barnum!! I watch the Discovery Channel all the time. I tape a lot of shows from it to show in my class. I'm a science teacher, so it comes in handy. I'm sure your dad will be seen in many history classes!

You should be proud! Not everyone can't say that their father has done some amazing things in their life. Congrats to your father for his job and role!

I've just been back to the website - there is a lot more on it. Including a clip with my dad:

http://discoverychannel.co.uk/virtualhistory/_pages/take_the_test.shtml

There are six clips in the bottom right. Dad's is the middle of the bottom row.

Looking at making of clips they show you how they used CGI to create the faces of the other leaders - but not Stalin, as Dad was too close a looker to begin with. He must have saved them a fortune

So the clip is false then?

*score!!! One out of One in the bag  *

Glad to know it's on over the Pond now. The show is a bit long and could have done with being about half an hour shorter as it does tend to repeat itself a lot.

Now you're famous, Comrade... :D
Well, my comrade father is at any rate.

We are now waiting to see if his one single spoken line in The Phantom of the Opera move made it into the final cut.
