NEW YORK (Reuters)
Comcast Corp. the largest U.S. cable company, said on Wednesday it would withdraw its $48.4 billion bid to buy Walt Disney Co.
"It has become clear that there is no interest on the part of Disney's management and board in putting Comcast and Disney together," Comcast Chief Executive Brian Roberts said in a statement.

So whats next? Does this signal the beginning of the end for Eisner?

However, word to the wise... Disney is not free of takeover bids by any stretch of the imagination.

Yes, but one of the reasons tossed around, for Eisner's strength even after the vote was the fact that Comcast was looming over...with the threat seemingly gone..for now atleast...perhaps replacing Eisner will happen sooner, before another hostile takeover bid...
