Comcast to buy out Blackstone

NBCUniversal will now have full ownership of both the Hollywood and Orlando parks. This is a huge sign of confidence in the theme parks and it should mean continued investment. I'm so glad Blackstone put their portion up for sale after the Comcast acquisition since GE had very little interest in the theme parks.

If you search any sports site you will see that Comcast within the week will be selling the Philadelphia 76ers (my hometown team). To whom you may ask? Well the Blackstone group of course (at least one of the primary owners of Blackstone anyway).

I thought it was a little weird. I imagine a cigar smoke filled room filled with rich old men sitting around a table.

Blackstone guy: "How about we give the 50% of Universal, you give us the 76ers?"

Comcast Chairman Ed Snyder: LAUGHS, realizes the guy is serious, and takes the trade. Then wonders what Blackstone might know that he doesn't about the deal.

I know that these two deals are not really interconnect but I thought it was interesting
