Combining normal DVC reservation with a rented points reservation

Anyone ever tried to do this?

We have reservations for 5 nights at OKW this summer. We have already borrowed ALL of our points for next use year to book an Aulani vacation, so we have no more points to borrow. We are looking to 3 more nights to the OKW reservation. The only way to do this (I think) would be to rent points (sure as heck aren't paying rack rates!!!). Ideally, we would like to combine the reservations so we don't have to move. I plan to call Member Services to try to figure this out before we commit to renting points, but thought someone on here might have experienced this before.

Also, if anybody has other resources for renting points beside the usual websites, I would welcome those.

Thanks!

If you get the same view, it shouldn't be a problem. The issue comes in if you have a preferred view versus pool or anything that would take different points. Worst case, Bell Services will move your bags to the new room. Have you tried getting a cash only room using the DVC Member discount?

They would be handled as two separate reservations since the owner you would be renting from is still technically the "booker" of the room even though your name is on it. They may be able to work with you to keep you in the same room, but they may not be able to. You could see if the owner renting you the points is willing to do it as a transfer instead of a rental. If so, then the points become yours and you can simply extend your existing reservations.

In March, we did this for our stay at AKL. We rented from two different owners. When we arrived they made sure that we could stay in our room for the second half of the trip.

I can't seem to find any info from any time more recent than 2010 about any cash only room discount for DVC members. Planning to call Member Services in the next couple days - getting all our ducks in a row so we know EXACTLY what we want and need before calling, so I'll ask them. But if you know where to find info on this, it would be most welcome!
